Gorky Gorod Ski Resort Russia

Gorky Gorod ia a modern medium sized ski resort in the Caucasus mountains near Sochi in Russia. Gorki Gorod ski resort is adjacent to the two other premier Russian skiing destinations of Rosa Khutor and Gazprom Mountain Resort. The area is often referred to by the name of the closest major town, Krasnaya Polyana.

Gorky Gorod has great skiing for beginners and intermediates, plus tree skiing options and high alpine off piste for advanced skiers and snowboarders. The ski lift system is the most modern in the valley, with all gondolas and chairlifts built after 2010. The high alpine ski areas (Cirque 2 & 3) are above 2000m elevation and have excellent snow quality.

The Russian Caucasus are blessed with bountiful snowfall due to the combination of topography, favourable weather systems and proximity to the Black Sea. Gorky Gorod reaps this benefit and provides a ski season that can extend well into May.
