Spring Skiing At Niseko

08/04/2012
Let me start with the obvious, this is truly a very good apartment hotel in Niseko. The service is great and the receptionists very helpful. The apartment was wonderful, clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and the floor heating is great, especially with small children who play around all day.

The apartments are fairly close to the Hirafu Gondola, however, it is a steep 5 minute uphill walk, so pls. note this if travelling with smaller children who have to carry their own skis. This sometimes became a point of discussion…. We also rented our skis downtown and the shop was very kind and brought and picked up our skis, however, had I known there was a shop right next to the gondola where you can place the skis, then I might have picked that option, so that I did not have to carry the skis back and forth each day.

The only thing I would have appreciated to know before coming was that the season apparently ends (sharply) end March, so the in building Convenience store was closed, as was many restaurants as well. This did not pose any serious issues and we did have the slopes and town to ourselves, but the restaurant selection is not great at this time. But on the positive side, the lift tickets, ski rental and apartment were a lot cheaper than during high season.

I would definitely recommend the Landmark, but I might want to choose a ski in/out hotel next time as it just makes things easier with smaller children.

Spacious & Very Very Comfortable

08/01/2011
At Landmark View Apartments you could swing 3 cats tied together!

The apartments are very spacious. We had a small gathering one night with about 15 people in the apartment and it catered well for such a big group.

The rooms are also quite spacious and have good storage and big comfy beds. The heated floors make walking around in your socks very cosy and yet the temperature in the apartment was not overbearing as it can be in so many ski accommodations.

The facilities in the apartments were also well thought out with spacious kitchens, storage space made for skiers, drying cupboard and laundry facilities. There was also 2 very nice bathrooms; one with a full bath to stretch out in after a day of skiing.

The views of Mt Yotie (when it pokes it's head out of the clouds; or the clouds lift) are spectacular. The whole external wall is glass giving these good sized apartments a feeling of being even bigger.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom which would be perfectly comfortable for 2 couples or a small family.

They are quite well located to the lifts with a short 5 min walk to the Hirafu Gondola and pretty much ski-in with an illegal 50 metres along the road. It is about a 10 minute stroll to the main Hirafu Village (which is why we deducted a point here) area however we didn't find this to be much of a hindrance given the great quality of these apartments and the location to the lifts.

There are no additional facilities to speak of such as pool or onsen however they do have good ski lockers in the basement of the building.

The cost of the apartments would be quite expensive for a couple given they are only 2 or 3 bedrooms however when divided amongst 4 or more people it is quite reasonable.
