Hakuba Powder Tour
The Hakuba Powder Tour is a sidecountry and backcountry tour of the Hakuba area. On some days the lifts at one of the many Hakuba ski resorts may be used to assist access to some of the sidecountry, and then you'll be touring to get further afield into the backcountry. On other days you may explore the backcountry from a road-side stop.
The Hakuba Powder Tour can cater to strong intermediate riders as well as advanced/experts skiers and snowboarders, and the tours will split the ability level accordingly.
Ski touring and ski mountaineering at Japan's mecca, the Northern Japanese Alps, is a fabulous destination to push your limits and ski the deep and steep back country that is hands down the best big mountain skiing that Japan has to offer. Only a very tiny number of people who visit the area ever venture into the backcountry; and that's because it is very steep and dangerous for those without local knowledge and experience.
Goodguides have over 10 years experience of skiing in central Japan giving them an intimate knowledge of the local mountains, weather patterns and local culture. Owner and operator Jerry Williams has fluency in the Japanese language, and his love of Japanese culture will ensure you get a well rounded trip with the absolute best in both skiing and culture.
All guides are professionally trained and qualified and are in the field everyday and know the conditions and terrain inside out.
They also have an extensive network in the local community enabling them to access local knowledge and information from the surrounding snow community.
