Ski Cooper is my most favorite resort. I like Ski Cooper for many reasons. Ski Cooper is a smaller ski mountain compared to the bigger ski mountains. You can park your car very close to the front ticket office. Everything at Ski Cooper is very close to each other like, ticket office, cafeteria, lifts, and the little store they have. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There mountain is perfect for beginner and everyone else. The runs are very wide so when a beginner like my son was skiing he said he liked Ski Cooper cause he had so much room on the slopes. He said he never worried about crashing into other people cause he felt he had the runs to himself and had way more than enough room to ski. One less thing to worry about on the slopes. That is a Big + for a beginner. We visited Ski Cooper 2/11/2022 which was a friday and we pretty much would get on the lift ski down and get right back on the lift with maybe at the most six groups ahead of us in line. A few times we would get to the lift and nobody would be in line. The slopes are groomed just as good as the bigger resorts if not better. You can see that the folks who run Ski Cooper take great pride in there ski resort. Just look around if your lucky enough to make it there. Everything is in order and clean. It's picture perfect. If you are lucky enough to make it to Ski Cooper take some time and learn about the 10th Mountain Division. I am 46 and had just learned about the 10th Mountain Division by luck. I was flipping the channels and came across a documentary on the History channel about the 10th Mountain Division.WOW!! is all I can say. Colorado should make all people who wanna ski in Colorado watch this documentary before they get to ski in Colorado just so everyone knows how and why the ski resorts in Colorado are there. Maybe just maybe this could be taught in history class at schools because I never learned about the 10th Mountain division in school and I wish I would have. Stop at the front entrance to Ski Cooper there is a memorial STOP and pay some respect. I hope this resort is around so my kids can take there kids and so on. Love You Cooper!

Ski Cooper is a time capsule of ski areas bygone.
Honest, simple and always a good time.
If you prefer Vail good for you!

They have no lift line for a reason! This is the worst run ski hill ever EVER!!!!!Don't bother going on an Event day because they will let hundreds on the mountain early so three are NO fresh tracks for people who purchased lift tickets and if you go the day after an Event the conditions are so bad its not worth going (they leave ropes up don't groom place if full of ruts the day after! This place is a RIP OFF! I will not be buying another pass here!

Ski Cooper is a small but good locals kind of place. Definitely not a big name destination resort but the perfect place for affordable family skiing. The mountain is skiable at every level and the prices are great. Cooper reminds me of the way the big resorts used to look before they got bought by big companies. It's not far from Vail or Copper and it is an easy drive over Tennessee Pass. The perfect pack your own lunch kind of ski mountain. Some of the best tele skiers. Fun place to ski.

Pros: Great family mountain and super place to learn to ski. In you are into backcountry nordic, you can pick up the Tenth Mountain Division Hut-to-Hut trail system from the parking lot. Very affordable lift tickets. You won't find the massive crowds driving up from Denver here. Friendly.

Cons: It's a small ski mountain with limited lifts and terrain. There is no developed village so you will have to find accommodations down the road.

Ski Cooper is a great little resort that is wonderful value and a good day trip at unheard of prices. $32 at Leadville Ski shop gets you a full days lift ticket. Pretty views and one base area make it a great area for a day trip when skiing one of the other bigger resorts. Nice greens and blues with no crowds or lift lines at all.
