Snowmass Lodging
Snowmass Village at the base of the Snowmass ski resort has an array of lodging. Most of the lodging comes in the form of condos, but there are also various Snowmass hotels and vacation rentals. Much of the Snowmass lodging falls into the deluxe and luxury price brackets, but there are also a handful of properties in the economy or moderate category. As a general rule, you’ll find better value for money accommodation at
Snowmass compared to
Aspen hotels and accommodations.
The majority of Snowmass lodging is ski-in ski-out or very close to it. This provides convenience for everyone, and it certainly adds to the family friendliness of Snowmass.

Snowmass Village Accommodation – Fanny Hill Area
An abundance of ski-in ski-out accommodations are located along the Fanny Hill ski run which aligns with Carriage Way or the lanes off it, and the bottom of Wood Road.
Accommodations near the
Base Village (towards the northeast end of Carriage Way near the intersection with Wood Rd) have huge advantages from a location perspective. Three main lifts ascend from this area. The base village has a focus of amenities, but in particular this is the hub of kids’ activities. If you’re using child care or kids’ ski school, or have complete novice skiers or boarders in your group, staying in this area will be very handy. The base village is also the meeting place for adult snowboard lessons.

Snowmass Village - Village Mall Lodging
Accommodations located near the
Snowmass Village Mall are also very well located. The mall is situated part way up the Fanny Hill run and is the main hub of shops, restaurants and bars, and it also has the transit centre for RFTA buses to Aspen. So if off-slope activities are more of a priority than getting the kids to the Treehouse Adventure Kids’ Center, then staying here will be perfect.
The Wildwood Lodge (moderately priced Snowmass lodging) is located right on the mall, whilst the
Snowmass Mountain Chalet (moderate budget) is located near the mall. The luxurious
Westin Snowmass Resort is also perfectly located in this area.

Other Snowmass Village Lodging
The Two Creeks area is a small base of the ski resort that is serviced by the Two Creeks lifts. This zone has various vacation rentals and is a long way from the main facilities, restaurants and shops at Snowmass. Only stay here if leaving your lodging at night is not a priority, and you’ve got intermediate riders and above in your group.
There are also various accommodations in no-mans land between Two Creeks and the main base that require a shuttle to get to the slopes or to go out at night. Similarly the accommodations near the Snowmass Club are not particularly well located unless your prime reason for visiting Snowmass is to go cross-country skiing.
Alternatively if you’re likely to spend most of your non-skiing time in Aspen enjoying the fabulous shopping, the vibrant nightlife, and the general buzz of Aspen, then you may prefer to stay in one of the
Aspen hotels or other Aspen lodging.
