Besides skiing and snowboarding, the Snowbird Resort has a limited number of winter activities on offer.

Snowbird Ski Tours and Activities

If the slopes at the Snowbird ski resort have become tracked out, there are a few other options for skiing (or boarding) fresh tracks.

Snowbird Resort offers cat skiing in the terrain out beyond Mineral Basin. The tours are for a half-day unless you book a private charter.

The resort also offers alpine touring days that head into the backcountry. These are rather expensive if you don’t have your own touring gear.

The Interconnect Tour is a skiers-only tour of multiple Utah resorts and the backcountry routes between them. Perhaps try this before the One Wasatch project is realized and all the resorts are interconnected via lifts and piste!

Snowbird Heli Skiing

For the ultimate in riding virgin snow, you could head out heli skiing with Powderbird. With good terrain and incredibly light Utah powder, this is a fantastic experience. The only downside is that you don’t generally get much vertical for the many dollars that it costs. The heli-port is located on the hill above The Cliff Lodge.

Family Activities

Other than night skiing and an ice-skating rink at the Cliff Lodge, Snowbird doesn’t have that much in the way of kids’ activities.

Adventure Activities

Contact the activity center for information on ice climbing as well as snowmobile tours through the backcountry.

Leisure Activities

Even in winter there are fly fishing opportunities – sounds chilly!

Another option is to go snowshoeing. Rent snowshoes and DIY, or go out on a tour.

If non-skiers want to enjoy the amazing views from the aerial tram and the top of the mountain, single rides on the tram can be purchased. Just don’t pick a powder day when the hungry powder fiends have their elbows out whilst getting on and off the cable car!

Relaxation

The Cliff Spa provides a multitude of different spa and treatment packages – massages, facials, mud baths and herbal wraps. The price list is outrageous but if you need relaxation that much, maybe it’s worth it?

Not as luxurious but just as relaxing at a much better price tag, Cottonwood Canyon Massage (801 349 2769) makes house calls.

Most of the Snowbird hotels have pools and hot tubs for lodging guests.
