Carros de Foc Backcountry Ski Tour
Overview
The Carros de Foc Pyrenees ski tour is a fully hosted & guided small group backcountry tour in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, one of the most beautiful in the Pyrenees.
The ski tour takes place on part of the Carros de Foc (or Chariots of Fire in English) circuit which is a very popular mountain walking trail in summer. It combines touring, staying overnight in four fully catered refugis (mountain huts) within the national park, climbing several of the area's high peaks & seeking out the best fresh powder turns. The only national park in Catalonia & with a great collection of summits & bio-diversity, Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici is a beautiful place amongst the highest peaks of Spain. With 6 months of snow and excellent climatic conditions the area usually provides the perfect combination of clear sunny weather and powder skiing.
The tour will not only summit the peaks to enjoy the views & splendid isolation, but will seek out the best freeride locations for some thrills & face shots on the downhill!

Ski Ability
This is one of the most beautiful sites in the Pyrenees. Skiing around choosing the best tops and the best ski descents, you will need to have previous experience of ski touring, plus being able to ski in all types of snow and moderate slopes. The slopes of the itineraries are very accessible. Groups will perform between 800 and 1200 meters ascent/descent per day.
Group Size
The tour is open for to private groups of between 4 & 6 people at the quoted tariff. Groups of less than 4 people will incur an additional tariff.
