Appi Kogen
By Japanese standards, Appi Kogen is a very high quality ski resort with superior services and facilities and some good lift infrastructure. Off-piste and sidecountry skiing is now permitted in a few designated treed areas, and some of the deep powder skiing may make you a very appi chappy! Appi Kogen is also very family friendly. Appi Kogen lodging includes the deluxe ski-in ski-out Hotel Appi Grand, other slopeside hotels, and inexpensive pensions and a hostel in the pension village a short distance from the ski resort.
The
Iwate Prefecture also has various other ski resorts that are ideal for road-tripping powder hounds, and there are a couple of snowcat skiing outfits.
Conditions
- Reviews must be submitted to Powderhounds.com between Friday 14th June and 30th June 2019 (closes midnight on 30th June EST).
- The written component of the review must be at least 100 words and written in English (Queen's English is not necessary!).
- The review should cover the pros, cons and who the resort/operation/hotel is best suited to.
- A minimum of 3 reviews that meet the criteria are required to be included in the draw. 6 reviews equates to 2 entries and 9 reviews equates to 3 entries.
- Review types could include ski resorts, cat skiing, heli skiing, tours, accommodation, or ski towns that are outlined on Powderhounds.com and have a review template in the left hand column of the relevant page. Only one review per ski resort or operation will be considered in the count.
- The reviewer must have visited the ski resort, cat skiing, heli skiing operation or lodging that's listed in the review within the last 3 years.
- The Appi 5-day lift vouchers for 2 adults are for the 2019-2020 season and can be exchanged at the ticket window for a 5-day lift pass.
- Winners will be drawn by July 5th and will be contacted by the email supplied with the review. Results of winners will also be published on this page and via our Facebook page.
