Deep fluffy powder abounds in the South Chilcotin Mountains and if powder skiing is your passion and you think you deserve the white carpet treatment, you should consider heading out with TLH Heliskiing!
There are lots of fantastic BC heli skiing outfits with amazing terrain and snow, and gorgeous backcountry lodges, but here are a couple of stand-out features of TLH Heliskiing packages.....
TLH Heliskiing offer SINGLE GROUP Heliskiing with UNLIMITED VERTICAL! So what does this mean for you? Freedom and Flexibility. You are the first to go out in the morning
and the last to come back at the end of the day. There is no waiting for the helicopter or for
other groups to catch up behind you. There is no additional cost, no matter how much you ski. You get to ski as much as possible in the confines of light and weather.
TLH back up their UNLIMITED VERTICAL program with a VERTICAL GUARANTEE that surpasses
the vertical inclusion of many other operators. Guarantees vary by package, season and available
daylight. You will never pay more, but should you be unable to ski to the vertical guarantee totals
you will receive a refund based on the unused portion of the guarantee.
Depending on which package you choose, groups can be either up to 10 with 2 guides or small group heli skiing with up to 6 guests with 2 guides.
At TLH you know how much the vacation costs and you can relax and enjoy all the powder turns you can eat, rather than worrying about how much each turn costs. And more powder turns equals more powder happiness!
Base Camp
TLH base camp consists of 2 levels of lodging depending on the package you choose.
For the mixed-group and semi-private packages, the Tyax Wilderness Resort and Spa Lodge is your home and is situated in a beautiful spot on the shores of a lake surrounded by striking mountainous peaks. The lodge has 29 guest rooms, a lounge, bar and den, and a dining room and patio overlooking the lake where you’ll enjoy fine dining. For even more relaxation after a major fix of powder skiing, the spa has three treatment rooms where you can enjoy a massage, a sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub and a yoga studio.
If you choose a full private package, you and up to 9 of your friends have exclusive use of the 9 bedroom Spirit Bear Chalet located near the main lodge. Here you will be pampered with the attention of your own private team, including a concierge, massage therapist, chef, pilot, and guides, while residing in your own private chalet, and flying in your own private helicopter.
The combination of superb lodging and maximum vertical heli skiing will ensure you have the ultimate ski vacation that combines an amazing rush with superb relaxation.
TLH Heliskiing Packages
All packages include unlimited single-group heli skiing, deluxe lodging, return transfers to/from Whistler or Vancouver, gourmet meals, use of avalanche safety gear and use of powder skis and poles. Group sizes and added services vary as shown in the following packages...
Where is TLH Heliskiing Located?
TLH Heli Skiing is based at the Tyax Wilderness Resort and Spa & Spirit Bear Chalet, which is 20 km northeast of the tiny town of
Gold Bridge.
TLH Heliski is
367 km north of Vancouver (by road) (approx 6.5 hours drive or 1:10 flight) and only
247 km north of Whistler (by road) (approx 5 hours drive).
The lodge is easily accessed via a very scenic ground transfer or by air from Vancouver airport, and it’s one of the closest BC heli skiing outfits to a major international airport. The proximity to Whistler is also a major bonus, as it’s easy to start your vacation with a few warm up days at the
Whistler Ski Resort.
Transfers to/from Vancouver or Whistler are included in the packages (except the 3-day Signature package which includes the inbound transfer only).
The TLH Heliskiing terrain is situated in the
South Chilcotin Mountains on the east slopes of the Coast Mountains of BC Canada.
Heliski Terrain & Snow
TLH Heli Skiing has more than 375 named runs and 830,000 acres of terrain in which to play. Most
Canada heli skiing has huge terrain, yet TLH Heliski has 25% more than the average for a BC heliski operator, so there is definitely no fighting for fresh tracks!
The average run length is 750 metres and the longest run goes for a whopping 2,200 metres. The average vertical covered each day is approximately 7,000 metres (about 23,000 feet) so make sure your legs are in fighting form!
TLH LOOKS CLOSE TO WHISTLER AND THE COAST. IS THE SNOW WET?
No! TLH is lucky to sit on the East Slopes of the Coast Mountains, where deep snowpacks abound. By the time the storms roll over the high Coastal Mountains, they’ve cooled off, delivering light dry powder. A rainy day in Whistler usually means lots of snow at TLH!
TLH Guides
Like the outfitters who first broke trail to the Chilcotins, TLH guides personify a sense of adventure, camaraderie and mountain wisdom.
All guides have
ACMG or
UIAGM training and qualifications ensuring your adventure is a safe experience.
