There have been several heli skiing operation in Japan over time however they have all perished since the Japanese economy took a downturn in the past 30 years. A few years ago, a brave Canadian decided to get a heli skiing operation going in Hokkaido on Mt Shirabetsu next to Rusutsu ski resort. This has resulted in an outstanding product when the weather plays ball.
