Mt Washington Facilities & Services

The facilities and services at Mt Washington BC are resort-owned and there’s very limited choice, but they’re adequate considering that the ski resort isn’t inundated with visitors. The facilities are mostly located at Alpine Lodge at the base of the Eagle Express Chair Lift.

Mt Washington Ski Rentals

You’ve got one choice for equipment rentals at Mt Washington, and that’s Alpine Rentals. Hopefully you like Rossignol gear because that’s all they have.

Mt Washington Ski School

The Mt Washington snowsports school has the usual line-up of ski and snowboard lessons. Of particular note, they offer inexpensive 3 day beginner packages that include group lessons. For kids, group lessons start from age 4, and other private ski programs are available for the wee ones from age 2.

Child Care

The Bear’s Den Daycare facility provides indoor child care in either a half or full day format, for ages 18 months to 5 years. Bad luck if you’re visiting Mt Washington for a week, because for some reason they limit child care to 4 days a month.

Eating On Mountain

The day lodge houses a cafeteria that serves up pretty usual dishes for a ski resort cafeteria.

Upstairs is a small café that has breakfast burgers, sandwiches, soup and other simple fare. They also sell coffee although we found it rather frustrating to order coffee. On multiple mornings the queue was incredibly long because there was only one person serving, whilst other staff stood around doing seemingly little.

A few nights a week, they rope off an area of the café and call it the Eagle View Restaurant. The sunset views were quite nice, but the food and wine selection were incredibly limited.

The main heartbeat of Mt Washington is Ted’s Bar & Grill, which is open for lunch, après ski, and dinner, and on weekends the dance floor or karaoke stage can come alive. It’s very family friendly and surprisingly kids are allowed to stay rather late.

Mt Washington Ski Shop

The Rossignol Demo Centre has a fleet of skis and snowboards that you can take out for a slide before you buy, and they offer boot fitting.

Outdoor Elements is a ski and snowboard shop in the day lodge that has a small range of outerwear and accessories such as helmets, gloves and goggles. Part of the shop, the Corner Store, has souvenirs, very basic groceries, snacks and alcoholic beverages.
