Phantom Heli-Skiing works in partnership with aviation provider and crown land tenure holder Black Tusk Helicopter Inc offering heli-ski packages departing from Whistler, Squamish and Downtown Vancouver.

Bring your own group of up to 4 or join a group as a solo!

Where is Phantom Heliskiing Located?

Phantom Heli Skiing operates in the famous Sea to Sky region of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains. Their main base is between Whistler and Squamish, approximately 1 hour from Vancouver and 25 minutes from Whistler Village. Packages are able to depart from Whistler, Squamish or Downtown Vancouver.

Heliskiing Terrain

Access 247,000 acres of remote backcountry terrain, throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor. From the famous Tantalus range, the southern reaches of Sky Pilot Mountain to the remote Ashlu range. Ski runs range from 300 – 1000m in length and are generally in mid-range alpine terrain, including old-growth tree skiing and expert classic coast mountain steeps.

Massive glaciers, alpine bowls, treeline pillow lines are all on the menu. Our ski area provides landscapes and terrain that any avid skier or boarder wants, from steep alpine bowls to treeline cruisers. Whether you’re a first time heli-skier or experienced veteran, our terrain leaves you inspired.

Vital Statistics

  • 247,000 acres of skiable terrain - that’s more than 33 times the size of Whistler Blackcomb
  • Over 100 named runs and growing
  • Phantom regularly skis new runs with its clients
  • Many runs with over 1,000 metres vertical skiing
  • Average snowfall of over 12 metres or 40 feet

Massive Coastal Glaciers

The twisting Coastal fjords end with spectacular icefields and surrounding glaciers. These provide a dramatic setting for the skiing and riding. Descend the sweeping glaciers while overlooking the Pacific Ocean on some of the most dramatic runs.

Old Growth Tree Skiing

Prominent ancient cedars and groves of towering fir trees are abundant throughout the terrain. Enjoy cruising through the naturally spaced undulating forests.

Steep and Steep

It starts with an annual snowfall of over 12 metres resulting in a deep snowpack that creates the pillows, spines, drops and steeps that the Coast Mountains are famous for.

From Sea to Sky

Phantom Heli Skiing is really directly in the middle of the famous ‘Sea to Sky’ area of British Columbia. Some days you’ll literally do it all. Start on an alpine peak, ski an open bowl and descend into old growth tree skiing. After hitting some snow pillows, get picked up to have lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a nearby fjord. Awesome!

WEATHER AND CONDITIONS CANCELLATIONS

Heli-skiing is reliant on appropriate weather for our helicopter to fly. In the event, we do not have the weather or conditions to safely operate for the day the head guide will make the call to cancel all groups. If your day is cancelled due to the weather or conditions your balance is refunded or applied to a future date.

VERTICAL GUARANTEE

With all our heli-ski packages our goal is to make sure you get your fix. However, sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate for helicopter flying conditions. Phantom Heli guarantees 3800 meters of vertical per day.

Refunds and credits are offered in the event of poor flying weather or mechanical breakdown. Flying condition decisions are made solely by pilots and guides. Refunds are not given if you choose not to participate based on physical condition or rider ability. No refund is given in part or in whole for unused days resulting from late arrival or early departure. If you choose not to ski a day, or end skiing early for whatever reason and you do not reach the vertical guarantee there will be no refund given.

Refunds given follow the following formula: $160 refund, or $200 credit per 1000 meters short of our guarantee. Credits are non-transferable without written approval from Phantom Heli and are good for 2 years from the date of issue.

DAY SKIING – HELI HOURS

Each private or semi-private package has an associated amount of heli time. Heli time is anytime the helicopter is flying. The time when the machine is running but planted on the group there is no charge. If your group decided to go over the allocated heli time the group is billed $4550 per hour of flight time. Typically this additional charge is roughly $450 per run per group.

CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTION INSURANCE

Phantom provides emergency medical insurance as part of your ski package purchase. This policy covers your time with Phantom, not before or after.

We strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance.
