Accommodations Big Sky Town Center
Down the road from Big Sky Resort are Town Center (aka Big Sky town) which is reasonably new, and the housing down there seems to spread for miles. The village has a little main street with some shops and restaurants and lots of real estate companies, otherwise the amenities are rather spread out. These Big Sky town areas are about 6.5 miles from the lifts and serviced via a complimentary shuttle system. Just a fraction further along is Meadow Village which is mostly residential.
Moonlight Basin Accommodations
The old Moonlight Basin Ski Resort base area (Madison Base) has a web of streets that have large mountains homes that are slopeside to the amalgamated Big Sky Ski Resort. The Big Sky lodging near the Madison Base offers serenity but you’d have to catch a bus or drive if you wanted to go out for dinner in Mountain Village.
Big Sky Mountain Village
Mountain Village at Big Sky Resort is the main on-mountain village. It’s not a village where you can stroll through, but rather a collection of a few buildings and hotels that house the limited number of shops, restaurants, and bars, so keep your expectations low regarding the après ski activities and nightlife. A couple of the Big Sky hotels are conveniently ski-in ski-out whilst other hotels and condo buildings are a short walk from the slopes.
Big Sky Lodging
A good proportion of the Big Sky lodging is ski-in ski-out or close to the slopes, yet considering the breadth of the ski area, it’s no great surprise that the Big Sky accommodations are also very spread out. There are a handful of Big Sky hotels in the Mountain Village where there are shops and restaurants, whilst other lodgings are not associated with a village and you’d need to drive or catch a shuttle to access restaurants, cafes and shops.
