The Hume Hotel in Nelson is a fabulous historic hotel.

I must admit that we are always a bit dubious about what the condition might be like for such an old hotel and we pleasantly surprised by how well maintained this hotel was. It featured many original fittings and fixtures with loads of dark polished timber throughout the building making you feel like you had just stepped back in time.

The restaurant in the old library served simple food however the quality was way beyond what you would expect for the cost of it.

If you like to party it up a bit, the Hume Hotel also has a pub / sportsbar which also has its own restaurant. If that isnt enough, there is also a third restaurant which has a bit more of a cafe feel to it however serves the same food as the old library restaurant.

Location wise, it is pretty much one block from the heart of Nelson where there are plenty more fabulous restaurants and bars to choose from all within a short walk.
