This Is What We Are talking About....

See is everything we love about skiing Europe. An affordable, BIG but small(!), uncrowded, powder paradise. Anywhere you can ski quality fresh tracks on a big powder day in February with no one else to compete with you is always going to be hard to beat when it comes to choosing where to spend your best days in winter. See provides exactly that. To top it off, 2 days later upon returning on a bluebird day, there were still multitudes of fresh lines to be had. Was it some covid effect or is this the way See always is?

We had a good feeling about skiing See as soon as we arrived. Free parking under the gondola, next to the valley return trail a short stroll to the ticket is a big tick. Lift pass prices that are pleasantly affordable is another big tick - particularly the half day morning pass, where you get a nice refund if you finish before lunchtime. Deep untracked powder in the upper mountain all morning is a huge tick. Steep, challenging terrain just off the Zeinis chair below the Sky Bar is another big tick. A long interesting valley trail devoid of humans adds another tick. Getting the crew in the Panorama Restaurant to make an Austrian version of an egg and bacon roll was a nice tick! Family friendly slopes and facilities - tick. And a few fabulous mountain huts in sensational locations - big tick. That's alot of ticks!

Have no doubt that when the sun comes out on a weekend See will have a few humans on its slopes, however in poor weather, early in the morning, during blizzards and generally during the middle of the week, See is a certified gem totally devoid of competition. We love it and will return ........ often!.

Go When It Snows

27/02/2022
Had THE BEST time at See. It had snowed the evening before. The piste runs were COVERED in powder and the off piste were barely touched. No else was riding the off-piste during the storm.

Enjoyed the trip's best strudel at the beautiful Ascherhutte. Don't miss it! Plus did my first proper rodelbahn (toboggan) run which was such a laugh but tougher (and faster) than it looks.
