Lofoten Islands Norway Ski Touring
The Lofoten Islands of Norway provide a ski experience like no other. Based in a self-contained fisherman's cabin by the sea, this tour seeks out the best of the terrain & snow in the islands, and does it by land. This is backcountry ski touring in Norway without the boat!
Located above the Arctic Circle west of Narvik, the archipelago is laden with deep fjords & precipitous mountains rising over 1,000m straight out of the sea. Connected to the Norwegian mainland by a series of bridges, the island chain provides amazing ski touring & freeride descents in spectacular coastal landscapes. Despite its location with the Arctic Circle, temperatures are relatively mild (due to ocean current influences) when compared to the usual extremes in other places during winter, providing comfortable touring conditions. For detailed information see our Lofoten Islands page.
