The Inspired Italy VENTURE Dolomites Ski Safari connects 11 Dolomites ski resorts &more than 17 different ski areas through 6 days of non-stop on-piste skiing. Staying on the mountain each night in high-mountain rifugio, the Venture Dolomites Ski Safari takes on some of the very best ski challenges that the Dolomites has to offer.

Enjoy six event packed ski days where each morning begins on a newly prepared groomed ski slope and no one else on the mountain. Each and every morning we say, "the mountain is yours". This is a unique Dolomites skiing experience, travelling through mile upon mile of UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE scenery and staying in a different high-mountain refuge each evening. This seven night adventure ski tour is fully hosted & guided with your own ski leader. You never have to puzzle over your trail map or think about where you're going. Just enjoy the slopes as they keep on coming ... and there are lots of them! Find the best snow, stunning mountain vistas, enjoy local cuisine and some lesser-known, quieter ski slopes. Small Groups

The Venture Dolomites Ski Safari is restricted to a maximum of seven per group, plus your ski leader.

Ski Ability

The Venture Dolomites Ski Safari is a fast paced tour suitable for fit, high intermediate or better skiers that can ski a groomed black (advanced) slope. All guests will be qualified before booking to ensure that the group is of the necessary fitness & ski ability.

On-piste trails are utilised throughout the tour. Off-piste skiing is possible along the way (as long as it doesn't slow the group down!), but it is at your own risk and will be without the ski leader.

Ski Equipment & Lift Passes

All mountain skis and poles are included in the tour price. You will need to bring your own ski boots or organise to rent some for an extra fee. A price reduction is given for anyone that wishes to use their own skis & poles.

A full 6-day Dolomiti Superski lift pass is included in the tour. If you have an IKON Pass that is valid for skiing 6-days in the Dolomites, you will receive a price reduction on the overall tour tariff.

Getting There & Away

To reach the start of the tour, Innsbruck (INN) is the best gateway airport. Yes, fly to Austria to ski Italy! If flights to Innsbruck are too awkward, then Verona (VRN) is the next best, but its flight schedule is even less than Innsbruck. Major international airports nearby are Munich (MUC) (just 2½hr train ride from Innsbruck) or Venice (VCE). Either way transfers can be arranged, or just get to either Innsbruck or Verona and get picked up by the included airport transfer. On the last day of the ski safari, after a great night’s sleep & breakfast, you will be driven to your preferred airport or other destination as negotiated with the tour operator.

Itinerary

There is something magical about staying on the mountain. As the other skiers drop back into their valleys and return to their hotels, you can pull up a chair, order a drink & allow the mountain tranquility to wash over you. Watch the sun slide behind the mountain opposite, because, more than likely, you'll be skiing it tomorrow!

DAY 1: Arrival & Welcome

Transfer from Innsbruck (or other preferred arrival point) via Ortisei & ski equipment fitting. Evening welcome drinks & briefing with your ski leader/host.

DAY 2: Warm-Up in the West

You get underway on the western edge of the Dolomite Superski area. Obereggen offers 37 ski runs and a total of 48 km of perfectly groomed pistes. Just before lunch you take the 12min taxi ride to San Pellegrino. First exploring the south facing slopes. Moving across the valley and the new ‘La Volat A’ black slope; 2.35 Km and 640m vert of pure adrenaline. Volat A plunges into the valley from Col Margherita to Passo San Pellegrino with gradients of almost 50%. We finish the day with a venture into the outback and descend the 12k or so to Falcade on the Innamorati piste. The taxi to Rif. Fedaia at the very end of the day sets up for an early start tomorrow.

DAY 3: Your Marmolada Morning

Descend the Marmolada from 3,265m ASL, along its 12km piste and 1,800 m vert, one of the finest ski slopes in the Alps. Do it twice or three times. Crest the ridge into Arabba to bag one of the steepest most challenging ski areas of the Dolomites before taking a breather as we cross Alta Badia. The 15 min taxi transfer to Falzarego to take in Lagazuoi favoured by Graham Bell and on to the Cinque Torri.

DAY 4: The Choice - Cortina d'Ampezzo -OR- Civetta

Ski Area - Civetta - Civetta tends to be a quieter ski area than Cortina with 80 km of great carving ski slopes and some of the very best views in the Dolomites.

Ski Area - Cortina d'Ampezzo - The famous Cortina d'Ampezzo comprises 3 areas, Tofana, Faloria & Cristallo. You ski them all!
The choice of ski area will depend upon conditions and group desire!

DAY 5: Venture North

A ski day with multiple highlights. Travel through the back-country on piste of the 5 Torri/Lagazuoi/Col Galina ski areas. And drop in on the Lagazuoi piste followed by the world famous Dolomites Hidden Valley. On towards Kronplatz via the men's world cup slalom ski slope and eventually to Kronplatz where the Black Five await. You will conquer most of them as we journey through this popular ski resort.

DAY 6: The Longest Ski Safari Day

We've never actually measured it, but the second run of the day bags around 10km. The return lift is 4.8 Km and 800m vert! Time allowing, you may slip in another Kronplatz black. On to Piculin & another of the Black Five. Bus back to La Villa and into the Alta Badia and on to Arabba, Ciampac and Buffaure.

DAY 7: Curves & Corners & a Home Run

Roll straight onto the piste & Buffaure 1, one of the best red ski slopes in the Dolomites to begin your Curves & Corners morning. Loads of ski highlights today! Too many to list ... but here's a few. Buffaure 1, Vulcano (black), Thöni, Tomba (black), Pera, Ciampac (black), Saslong (black men's world cup downhill/GS), Catores (black), La Longia - (10.5 Km red).

DAY 8: Departure & Goodbye

Hotel Cavallino d'Oro

During your Classic Dolomites Ski Safari you will spend 2 nights (1 night at the start & 1 night at the end of the tour) in the 4-star Hotel Cavallino d'Oro located in the mountain village of  Castelrotto. Rooms will be on a double or twin share basis & breakfast is included.

Mountain Rifugi

During the middle of the ski safari you will experience the ultimate Dolomites lodging experience spending 5 consecutive nights in different alpine rifugi. Note that whilst most couples will get their own private rooms with en suite, it is impossible to guarantee this. It is most likely that you will, at some point, have to share with other members of your group, but that is part of the rifugio experience!.

All rifugi include breakfast & dinner, plus full bars with local aperitifs, beer, wine & grappa. Enjoy the views, sunrises & sunsets - they come compliments of nature!
