The highlight for us at Pension Furanui was the indoor onsen type baths, a fantastic way to start or end the day. Other pluses were the easy internet access and laundry facilities. The only real downside to the accommodation was the annoying bell music that woke us up at 7am and continued until 9pm!

Breakfasts were a combination of Western/Japanese cuisine, but they have a distinctive 'ground-hog day' feel to them.

There appeared to be only one staff member who spoke a little English, but everyone got by.

We stayed in a Japanese room. The accommodation was great, although it took us a few days to get used to the hard futon on the floor.

The location was pretty good and we could ski back to the pension most of the way via the footpath.
