Very Convenient Resort Hotel

11/04/2024
We really enjoyed our short stay at the Tower. Being able to stay slopeside and ski-in ski-out was incredibly convenient. It was also really easy just wander through the indoor tunnels to breakfast and dinner and to head to Hotalu Street and other amenities. It wasn’t a quaint village experience but rather a very curated resort experience, but if you want a stress-free holiday where everything very accessible then The Tower would do the trick.

We stayed at the Risonare last year and it was great to stay at the Tower this year which is much more affordable. The communal areas of the Tower were very busy and it was quite different to the tranquillity of the Risonare. The restaurants close to the Tower were very good but perhaps not as amazing as those at Risonare, which is what you’d probably expect considering the price difference. The location was probably a little more convenient at the Tower considering its central position and some may find it a bonus that it’s close to the night skiing.

We stayed in a twin room on the 34th floor. The highlight was the amazing views across the ski resort which looked great during the day and night. The amount of space was also really good, as the room had a semi-separated lounge area. Whilst some rooms at the hotel have been fully renovated, our room just had a renovated bathroom and new carpet, whilst the furniture was old and the bed spreads from another era, but this didn’t alter the functionality of the room. Other pros of the room included great heating to dry items easily and good block out blinds to enable a nice sleep-in.

We had breakfast at Mikaku which had a good selection of buffet items, although the chef prepared items were the same every day. It was a nice restaurant because it was only modestly sized and didn’t have the same frenetic energy as the Nininupuri where we had dinner one evening. We also had dinner at Buffet Hal, which is a medium sized buffet restaurant, and crab legs and steak were the specialty there. The quality of the food across the board was very good, perhaps too good! Luckily we only had a short stay or we might have needed bigger ski pants if we’d stayed for a week!

We really likeTomamu and would very happily stay at the Tower again.
