Hotel Jogakura

Hotel Jogakura is located about 5 minutes drive from the Hakkoda Ropeway. The hotel has a range of western & Japanese tatami rooms, & luxury suites and maisonettes.

The onsen (natural hot spring) is delightful with an indoor and outdoor bath that provides a nice outlook over the snow covered forest. The staff are very friendly, and the food is an amazing highlight.

Guiding

Hakkoda guiding is available for guests at Hotel Jogakura, although there’s high potential that the group size will be very large (as is somewhat typical of the Japanese guides). Rental equipment is available. You can apply to participate in the backcountry tour by 7pm the day before. Transport to the ropeway station is included as part of the backcountry tour. 

Where is Hotel Jogakura?

Hotel Jogakura is located 4km (about 5 minutes drive) south of the Hakkoda Ropeway near Aomori in northern Tohoku Japan. Shuttles are provided to and from the Hakkoda Ropeway. A daily shuttle is also provided between Aomori station and the hotel (reservations required with 3 days notice) once a day. The shuttle from Aomori station to Hotel Jogakura is mid afternoon and the shuttle back to the Aomori station is at 9am. Otherwise there are public buses or you can get a taxi.

For groups with 5 or more guests, a courtesy bus is provided between Aomori Aiport and the hotel (reservations required).

Hotel Rooms

The hotel has a range of western twin rooms and Japanese tatami rooms, some with just a private toilet and others with a full bathroom with a large bath. Hotel Jogakura also has luxury suites with hinoki baths and maisonettes with a living area.
