Hotel Marillen
The Hotel Marillen in Hakuba is an Austrian style hotel which possibly has the best location in all of Hakuba with its absolute ski-in/ski-out location at Happo One ski area. It is ideal for small groups and families with rooms catering for 2 - 4 guests. It also has a lovely bar & restaurant on site. The only bad part about Hotel Marillen is that it books out very quickly so you will need to reserve your spot asap!
Where is the Hotel Marillen Hakuba?
The Hotel Marillen is fabulously located ski-in/ski-out at Happo One ski area in
Hakuba Japan, and a 2 minute walk to the free resort shuttle bus stop and immediate access to lifts.
It is located in central Happo One village so there are a good number of restaurants and bars right at your door step.
This base area where the Hotel Marillen is located has night skiing and a steep green run, so it’s not ideal for complete novices either.
Accommodation
There are 15 guest rooms on 3 levels which come in 3 room flavours; ideal for 1 - 4 guests per room.
All rooms have a small living space with a small table and chairs, a flat screen TV, a balcony and ensuite.
Half of the rooms face the slopes whilst the others look back towards the village (it is said that the slope facing rooms can be a bit noisy due to the snow makers running at night) and all have a small balcony with views.
Facilities
The Hotel Marillen has free wifi throughout the hotel, ski storage and drying room.
There is a lovely cosy lounge area with fireplace which overlooks the slopes. So if you want to stay in the warm and watch the world ski by, this is a great place to do it.
Ski rentals and lessons are also available from the hotel and there is an on-site laundry.
Restaurants & Bars
The Marillen Hotel has a fabulous restaurant and bar onsite.
The restaurant is bistro-style and serves traditional Tyrolean food; schnitzels and fondue with a great selection of wines available from their own private wine cellar. Meals are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Drinks are served from the bar on the front-deck of the hotel (weather permitting) as well as inside the hotel. This is ideal for those that like apres (a drink after skiing) or a place to hang out and have a drink in the evening.
If you get tired of the amazing food here and the awesome hospitality, there are about 20 restaurants and a dozen bars all within a short walk.
