The Daiwa Roynet Hotel Morioka is a classic business hotel whereby any lack of character is made up for with functionality. We have stayed in two different room types: a standard double room which was really squeezy but very economical; and a large twin room with so much space to spread out and a decent sized bathroom by Japan hotel standards. The only minor limitation was that the heater vent was up really high so it was hard to dry out the boot liners, but thankfully there was a great hairdryer. The wifi worked really well in the room.

The breakfast offerings were bountiful and the quality of the buffet was reasonably good without being amazing. It was mostly Japanese fare and a few western type items such as French toast, stale croissants, vegetable croquets, yoghurt, and a tiny bit of fruit. The surprise package was the coffee jelly.

The reception staff spoke a tiny bit of English so they were able to assist with a couple of queries.

A major pro was that the hotel provided very good value for money.
