Geto Kogen Lodge
The accommodation is very basic yet inexpensive and very unique. The GetoKogen lodge is like a cross between an onsen hotel and a hostel. A highlight is the beautiful onsen that includes an outdoor area that overlooks the snowy surrounds.
Where is the GetoKogen Lodge?
The Geto Kogen lodge is at the base of the
Geto Kogen ski area in what you’d classify as a ski-in ski-out location. It adjoins with the day lodge of the ski resort resort.
Accommodation
The sleeping facilities are like an upscale version of dormitory accommodation and a spacious version of a capsule hotel. The accommodation consists of one big room sleeping up to 88 people in 2 storey generously sized bunk beds. The beds have 3-way walls, a curtain, a light, and power point. And these are solid wooden bunks, not the type that wobble when the person above you rolls over!
Bathrooms are shared facilities (downstairs from the dorm room) with bathing in the onsen. The onsen is rather lovely and for each gender it includes a lovely indoor bath as well as an outdoor bath that overlooks the snowy surrounds and the valley.
A family room with 4 bunk beds is also available.
