Kagura Mitsumata Cottage

Kagura Mitsumata Cottage is a Japanese style inn (despite having “cottage” in the name) located near the Mitsumata Ropeway of the Kagura Ski Resort. The Kagura Mitsumata Cottages has tatami rooms with futons and the rooms utilise communal bathrooms which includes a small onsen bath.

Where is the Kagura Mitsumata Cottage?

The Kagura Mitsumata Cottages is located adjacent to the car park of Mitsumata Ropeway of Kagura Ski Resort (which is inter-connected with Naeba Ski Resort). It’s a 350m (4 minute) walk to the ropeway (cable car). The little village of Mitsumata is very small and there’s not much there except a few inns and the Kaido no yu onsen, which is within walking distance of the Kagura Mitsumata Cottage.

Kagura Mitsumata Cottages is about 8km from the town of Yuzawa on route 17.

Guest Rooms

The inn has a range of Japanese tatami rooms with futons for up to 2, 3 or 4 guests.

The rooms utilise communal bathrooms and a small onsen bath is open from 3-9pm.

All rooms offer mountain views.

No meals are provided at the Kagura Mitsumata Cottages and the quiet Mitsumata village doesn’t have any restaurants or a convenience store. Shops and restaurants are available in Yuzawa, a 10 minute drive away.

A fridge, microwave oven and hot water jugs are available for guests to make their own meals.
