Chitosekan
Chitosekan in Nozawa Onsen is an old style ryokan that offers traditional Japanese lodging in a fantastic location. Rooms have tatami floors with futons on the floor and some rooms have a private toilet, whilst guests can bathe in the onsen.
Where is Chitosekan Nozawa Onsen?
Chitosekan is in a primo location at the top end of the main street of
Nozawa Onsen Japan. It’s only 150 metres to Yu Road, the travellator that heads up to the Hikage Gondola of the Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort where you can store your ski/snowboard equipment overnight.
Chitosekan Ryokan is only 20 metres from the famous Oyu Onsen and the adjacent foot bath, and the many restaurants and bars are on your doorstep.
Rooms
Rooms are traditional Japanese style with tatami flooring, shoji paper screens and other Japanese décor.
The simple rooms can sleep 1-2 guests on futons on the tatami flooring, and there is a seating area. Some room have a private toilet and wash basin, whilst all guests bathe in the onsen onsite in the traditional Japanese manner.

Dining
Japanese breakfast is available along with a few western type items such as toast and a hard boiled egg.
Japanese meals are served in the tatami dining area (reservation required) or there’s a multitude of restaurants within very easy walking distance.
