Sumiyosiya Ryokan
Sumiyosiya is one of the longest running traditional ryokans in Nozawa! Sumiyosiya is also one of just a handful of deluxe ryokans/hotels in
Nozawa Onsen.
This classic Japanese style ryokan with amazing wooden architecture and interiors, provides impeccable Japanese service, culture and atmosphere.
The Ryokan has its own natural Japanese hot springs / bath house (onsen) as well as beautifully decorated and traditional communal areas.
If you want a splurge, it is sure to be a stay to remember.
Where is Sumiyosiya Ryokan?
The ryokan is ideally located next to Ogama; the cooking onsen. It is just a very short walk to the Yu travelator (10 metres) which heads up to the Hikage gondola (location of kids park, ski school and child care). It’s a very short stroll from the centre of the village.
Rooms
Rooms are traditional Japanese-style (futons on tatami flooring) however some rooms have raised futons that are similar to western beds. All rooms have a private toilet & basin however not all have a full ensuite with shower (as many people prefer to use the onsen every day which is the traditional Japanese way).
Each room has a low table and TV with satellite channels and free green tea making facilities, plus free wifi is available in the rooms and throughout the property.
