ZEN Hostel

Zen Hostel is located in downtown Yudanaka only 3 minutes walk from the train station with local convenience stores nearby.

It is the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. Akihito and his team provide a high level of Japanese service backed up with western insights gained by working overseas. English speaking with a wealth of knowledge of the Nagano area, the team will look after all your needs.

Built in 1783, the building was once a city office and school. It was then a traditional Japanese hotel for 120 years before becoming ZEN Hostel, where modern meets traditional. 

Rooms

The clean, comfortable & spacious rooms consist of a 16 room dorm with curtained bunk beds plus 2, 3, 4 and 6 person Japanese-style rooms with traditional futon beds.

All rooms use the segregated male and female shower rooms & toilets.

Facilities

The facility boasts a lounge with a view of the in-house pond, a small gym area and a cafe/bar where locals and guests can create new but lasting friendships.

There is free Wi-Fi throughout the property, vending machine and laundry facilities available.  

Meals & Drinks

A free breakfast is included with your stay and the cafe/bar serves lunch and dinner.

In addition, the township of Yudanaka has a wide range of restaurants which include such tastes as sushi, yakatori, izakaya and a range of dual Japanese/Western type dining plus there are many karaoke bars nearby .
