Harris Mountains Heli Ski Mt Cook Packages
The Aoraki Mount Cook ranges are not only the home of New Zealand’s highest peak, but also some of the country’s most exhilarating ski and snowboard terrain. Harris Mountain Heli Ski has access to some incredible heliski territory in this extraordinary region.
Mt Cook heli skiing generally has less fly days available compared to Wanaka and Queenstown heli skiing, due to the big storms that pass through, so you’ll need to wait for the perfect weather window. It will be worth the wait though because the Mt Cook heli skiing and boarding has some amazing pros over other parts of New Zealand. It snows a mighty lot in the region and the runs tend to start at higher elevation, which leads to longer runs and better quality powder. The snow quality is also enhanced due to the cold temps and fridge effect from the heavily glaciated terrain.
Harris Mountains Heli Ski offers Mt Cook packages that include gorgeous scenic flights between Queenstown or Wanaka and Mount Cook. However if you are staying in or near Mt Cook, you don't have to miss out as you can drive directly to the staging area (heli pad) and not pay the extra money for the flights.
The package includes 5 runs with the option to add more (available with the agreement of a minimum of three clients per group), a guide to guest ratio of 1:4-5 (depending on weight).
Various options are also available for private charter and multi-day packages at Mt Cook.
