The Classic 2 Run Package

The "classic" Ski the Tasman package includes 2 guided scenic ski runs, 3 scenic helicopter flights, and a scenic picnic lunch (plus scenery all around!). This is a phenomenal experience - see the Ski the Tasman overview for reviews and information about location, snow and terrain.

The tour starts with a check-in at 9am in the Mt Cook Village. After fitting gear and a safety brief you will be quickly underway on this incredible adventure ski day. Once on the snow the aircraft departs and you are immersed in the natural quiet of the mountains, amongst New Zealand's highest peaks. The 2 longest ski runs in the Southern Hemisphere (outside Antarctica) await your fresh tracks.

The package also includes safety equipment (avalanche transceivers) and return transfers to your accommodation at Mt Cook (if required). Ski rentals (and boots & poles) are also available for an additional cost.

The tours operate daily from the 25th June to 23rd October, weather permitting.

If you wish to stay in the area, you can organise your own Mt Cook accommodation if you wish, with the Hermitage Hotel Mt Cook being the jewel in the crown of the village. If you are staying in Queenstown and have a group of at least 2, Ski The Tasman can arrange a package including same-day return flights from Queenstown/Mt Cook. Packages from Wanaka are also possible.

Snowboarders

Ski the Tasman is not suitable for snowboarders considering the amount of traversing and exploration required. Snowboarders may wish to go heli skiing with Mt Cook Heliski.
