The Lodge is an affordable Methven hotel with a restaurant and bar onsite.

Where is The Lodge Methven?

Located in the middle of Methven, The Lodge is just 80 metres from the main intersection so it’s within very easy walking distance of the restaurants, bars and shops of Methven.
A shuttle bus to Mt Hutt Ski Resort stops at the hotel.

The Lodge has a range of good sized hotel rooms.

  • Double room – queen bed and single bed (3pp)
  • Triple room – queen bed, double bed (up to 4pp)
  • King room – king bed (up to 2 guests), spa bath

Very Reasonable, Nothing Special

We stayed at The Lodge for a couple of nights. It provides rather standard hotel accommodation and there was nothing particularly remarkable. Facilities were somewhat limited, except for the associated restaurant/bar establishment.

The furniture was a bit old school yet our room was decent sized for just two of us and very functional. The abundance of easily accessible off street parking was a pro. We were a bit worried that noise from the bar would travel to our room, but it was adequately buffered and had a good sleep.

We ate in the restaurant area of the pub, and it was respectable typical New Zealand pub fare.
