Accommodation Perisher – On-Mountain
There are various Perisher hotels on the mountain, along with some self-contained apartments, commercial lodges (some with meal packages and others that are self-catering), and ski club lodges.
The villages at
Perisher weren’t really planned for charm or convenience, and the lodges were established via national park rules that ensured they were a long way apart from each other. There is negligible ski-in ski-out accommodation at Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes, and many lodgings require a short to long walk to get to the lifts.
The Perisher accommodation (formerly Perisher Blue accommodation) is spread out across three villages. Keep in mind that in early/late season or poor snow seasons, the interconnections may not necessarily be open, so choose a village that has the amenities or slope types that you need.
Perisher Valley Accommodation
Perisher Valley is the largest village and has the most restaurant and nightlife options. All ski school offerings are provided at the Perisher Valley base, and it’s ideal if you have small children. The Perisher Valley ski area has slopes for all abilities. It’s also the village where the Skitube arrives.
There are several Perisher hotels and ski lodges that are situated slopeside and are ski-in ski-out.
Perisher Valley Hotel is the quintessential Perisher hotel and it’s very family friendly. The Perisher Valley Hotel is conveniently located close to resort facilities and ski-in ski-out at the base of the novices’ ski area, so you can watch all the action from your hotel room or the restaurant. The Perisher Valley Hotel has spacious hotel rooms that cater for 2 to 4 guests and suites for up to 5. See our
review of the Perisher Valley Hotel for more information.
Perisher Manor Hotel is also located ski-in ski-out at Perisher Valley. Rooms range from simple double and twin to deluxe rooms that sleep up to 6 people.
The
Sundeck Hotel sits about 100 metres up the Front Valley slope. Packages are usually 7-day stays and include full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Most of the Perisher lodges are spread out on the other side of the Perisher Creek from the ski resort, and some of them are a long walk from the slopes.

Smiggin Holes Accommodation
Smiggin Holes is a smaller village, although rather than being a village per se, it’s another collection of ski lodges. The ski school at Smiggin Holes offers most lesson types, with the exception of kids ski school for ages 3 to 6, which are only offered over at Perisher Valley.
There are several private Smiggins lodges that sit in a prestigious ski-in ski-out position, whilst the
Smiggins Hotel sits at the base of the ski area.
For a splurge, your family or group could stay at
Smuggler’s Lodge which sits slopeside. This magnificent chalet has 6 bedrooms (4 master bedrooms with ensuite + 2 kids rooms) for up to 14 guests. It comes complete with bespoke concierge services, a chef’s kitchen, and generously sized living spaces that overlook the slopes. You might be lucky enough to find a vacancy at this coveted luxury chalet.
Other lodges sit across the car park from the slopes or in the surrounding streets, and generally the Smiggins accommodation is much closer to the ski resort compared to many Perisher Valley ski lodges.
The
Lions Lair Lodge is a bed and breakfast lodge and offers queen, twin, triple, 4-share and 6-share rooms, all with private bathroom. Parking is included, which is like gold. The lodge is 150 metres walk from the slopes.
Guthega Accommodation
The base area of Guthega is small and consists mostly of private ski club lodges.
The
Guthega Inn is located only 80 metres from the nearest lift at the Guthega Village. This hotel has king rooms and quad rooms.
Whilst the Guthega ski area is interconnected with the other three parts of the Perisher Ski Resort, by road it’s 30km from Perisher Valley, so don’t expect that you’ll be enjoying any nightlife at Perisher Valley if you’re staying at Guthega.
Perisher Accommodation - Off-Mountain
Lake Crackenback
Lake Crackenback Resort is located near Bullocks Flat where the Skitube departs from, and the resort provides regular shuttles to and from the skitube. Lake Crackenback is also well positioned to visit Thredbo because it’s located on Alpine Way, just 16.5km to the northeast of Thredbo.
The resort sits on a lovely piece of picturesque land overlooking the Snowy Mountains, with the lake being the centrepiece. The resort offers lots of activities such as a day spa, gym, sauna, swimming pool, bush walking, par 3 golf course, and archery, so there’s plenty to do if you want some time off from skiing or snowboarding.
Lake Crackenback Resort provides deluxe studios, apartments and chalets. More information on
Lake Crackenback here.

Jindabyne Accommodation
Another option is to stay in the picturesque town of
Jindabyne situated on Lake Jindabyne, about a 30 minute drive away from Perisher (or you can take the Skitube from Bullocks Flat or get a bus).
Jindabyne is not as pricy as Perisher accommodation, and there are options to cater for a large range of budgets. Accommodation types include hotels, motels, cottages and apartments.
Rydges Horizons Snowy Mountains is a condo hotel that is centrally located in Jindabyne. It provides studios and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, most of which overlook the lake. The hotel has good amenities including a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, tennis courts and undercover parking. The Powderhounds enjoyed a stay here. It was very functional and happy hour was a bonus. Whilst rated as a 4-star property, our studio was rather dated.
The
Alpine Resort Motel offers a range of rooms, studios for up to 5 adults, and 2 bedroom apartments.

Cooma Accommodation
With prices soaring for accommodation at Perisher and in Jindabyne, those looking for an affordable ski trip are now looking towards accommodation options further afield. Cooma is 85km from Perisher Valley, a drive that takes about 1:15 hours, and it provides lots of options for motel style accommodation that won’t break the piggy bank.
