Actions Snowsports Ski & Snowboarding Lessons

If you are looking for English speaking lessons for yourself or your kids, Action Snow Sports International Ski School offer PRIVATE plus GROUP adult, kids 4-6 and 7-14 lessons for skiers & snowboarders,

Group Lessons

If you are an individual or small group looking to join a mixed group of either skiers or snowboarders for lessons then these are the ideal option for you.

Adult (15+) Group (max 4) Lessons

Adult group lessons are offered in both Madarao & Tangram every morning for beginners to expert skiers and snowboarders wanting to improve their skills. Each group has a maximum of 4 students per instructor, giving you the best opportunity to gain some valuable ski/ride experience and coaching from qualified instructors in a relaxed, and fun lesson environment. Students are grouped with others of similar ability, working together to improve skills and technique while exploring the mountain and having an amazing time on snow.

Group lessons are a great way to access the knowledge of qualified ski instructors and meet new ski/board friends without breaking the bank. Group lessons can be taken as a refresher at the start of your holiday, or every morning to give a better focus for the day’s skiing to really fine tune your technique.


Note: Group lessons need 2 pax to go ahead. If there is just one pax, it becomes a private lesson. In the rare case of this happening, you will be offered a 1.5 hr (one and a half hour) private lesson.

KAMUSKA KIDS 7-14 YEARS

Kamuska Kids is a half or full-day group ski program for children 7-14 years,  and offers your child a professional and memorable ski and snowboarding holiday experience. Action Sno Sports specialist children’s instructors will ensure your child has tons of fun while improving their skiing, while safely exploring the mountain.

Watch your child’s confidence and love for the snow grow in the Kamuska Kids program which has been developed for young skiers and boarders with safety and fun in mind. 

Lunches are included and are supervised by the instructors. 

  • The meeting place for all lessons is directly outside of the Action Snow Sports office, which is down the stairs from Shirakaba Rentals. There will be signs and meeting place flags.
  • Please let Action Snow Sports know if your child has any food intolerances or special needs.
  • Group sizes can be up to 8 kids but generally 4-6 depending on business demand.
  • Each group has one instructor. At times there may be a trainee instructor assigned to the group also.

Kids Group Lessons Madarao

TANUKI KIDS 4-6 YEARS

Tanuki Kids is a half or full-day group ski program for children 3 – 6 years old,  and offers your child a professional and memorable ski holiday experience.

Our specialist children’s instructors will ensure your child has tons of fun and improves their skiing, while safely exploring the mountain.

Watch your child’s confidence and love for the snow grow in the Tanuki Kids program which has been developed especially for young skiers with safety and fun in mind. 

Lunches are included for all-day kids only and are supervised by the instructors. 

All children booked into any Kids Club program must be toilet trained.
Madarao Kids Lessons 7 to 14

Private Lessons

If you are a solo or group of similar standard of skiers or snowboarders wanting personalised attention to help accelerate your ski or snowboarding then this is the best option for you.

Private Ski & Snowboard lessons in both Madarao & Tangram have a maximum of 4 persons in the lesson (this may be dependent on the individuals’ skill levels)  Adding additional people to a private lesson will accrue an additional charge.

Please note:  Lessons booked from Tangram are all 2hr lessons including the afternoon lessons unless otherwise discussed previously.

Multi day prices are only available when full 3 or 5 day bundles are purchased, and are per person.   The per day amount shows you the bundle savings.

Payment Terms & Conditions

To secure your lesson bookings, advance bookings will require a deposit. Once the booking has been confirmed by email, we will send you an invoice which is easily paid by credit transferring the deposit funds to our bank account in Japan. The balance is to be paid by card from the invoice or in cash at our new office location prior to the time of the lesson.

Acknowledgement Of Risk

All guests acknowledge that there are always inherent risks associated with skiing and snowboarding, while participating in on snow activities. This including all Action Snow Sports lessons & programs. Therefore, Action Snow Sports will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries during, before or after Snowsports School lessons, programs and any other associated products offered by Action Snow Sports.

All Action Snow Sports lesson and guiding programs will continue to operate when it is snowing, raining, foggy and windy. Instructors and management will tailor programs for the best possible results, respective of each day’s snow and weather conditions.

Cancellations & Refunds

Note: If a guest chooses to cancel or not show up to their lesson or program due to weather conditions or for any other reason, then the cancellations policy below will apply.
If there is no appropriate terrain available to run the lesson or program due to lift closures Action Snow Sports will re-schedule the lesson. If a re-schedule is not available solutions will be offered, depending on the circumstances.
  • Cancellations of equipment rental and lessons made prior to arrival in Madarao must be done via email or by calling Action Snow Sports between 8:15am and 4:30pm (Japan time).
  • Cancellations made after arrival in Madarao must be made either in person or by calling Action Snow Sports between 8:15am and 4:30pm (Japan time).
  • Cancellations made 30 to 10 days prior, and/or when payment of the booking has already been made to Action Snow Sports, will incur a 15% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made 9 to 3 days prior, and/or when payment of the booking has already been made to Action Snow Sports, will incur a 25% cancellation fee.br />
  • Cancellations made 2 days prior, or 1 day prior by 12:00 noon, will incur a 50% fee.
  • Cancellations made after 12:00 noon 1 day prior to the day of the reservation and `No Shows’ will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made at any time due to illness or injury will be eligible to receive a 90% refund for the remaining term, upon presentation of a medical certificate from a local hospital or private doctor
