About Dos Tiempos
Founder and lead guide Cristián Wehrhahn is a professional snowboarder, snowmobile enthusiast and mountain lover. He spent countless seasons with his best friend, Paulo Audisio snowmobiling in the Pacific northwest, Europe, and Alaska. Eventually, he decided to bring sleds back to his native mountains, in the search for better snowboarding. Cristian, Audisio and their band of friends started Dos Tiempos by loading their sleds onto a trailer and scouring the country for the best snow. In 2008, they found what they were looking for in Cajon del Maipo. They unpacked their sleds in Lo Valdes and never left. Back then, snowmobiles were unheard of in Chile. Cristian recalls a local goat herder saying; “they are like mountain rockets!” Cristian and Audisio totally agreed. These machines allowed them to explore untouched terrain with ease and speed.
Cristian and Audisio have been guiding for over fifteen years and have a deep understanding of their terrain and snow conditions. They are passionate about offering a service that is respectful to the mountains, safe and fun for all involved.
The first years in the valley, Dos Tiempos operated out of a base camp made up of two shipping containers. In 2013, Cristian met his wife, Rion, a Columbus Georgia native. Together, they decided to convert their shipping containers into a home. They traded snowboard boots for windows, salvaged old wood and built a humble but warm house that doubles as a basecamp for operating their business. When you arrive, Cristian, Audisio, Rion and their beloved dog Johan will welcome you in with Chilean/Southern hospitality and happily share with you their stories and love for the mountains.
