I booked a private guided tour with Juan and Sofia, intending to propose to my now fiancée during the trip. From the moment I shared my plan with them, they went above and beyond to make it truly special. The night before, they stayed up late helping me fine tune the details, even going out of their way to pick up extra items to make the proposal even more perfect.

On the day of the tour, they not only gave us an unforgettable skiing experience but also made the entire day so much fun. Sofia captured incredible photos throughout, including stunning shots of the proposal - memories we will cherish forever. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and kindness made this experience far better than I could've hoped for.

We’re a group of 5 snowboarders and 1 skier, all excitable middle aged blokes, in Niseko for the week.

The 2 days lift accessed guiding we booked were hands down the best thing we did.

Our main guide Jon, from Argentina was fantastic. What we really respected was his cool and professional approach, keeping us all safe on the mountain but coupled with an ability to find some amazing terrain for us. He’s also a class skier.

Being a group larger than 5 you have to have a tail guide, so on the first day we were accompanied by Koji, a Sapporo local, and on the second day we rode with snowboarder Torin, who was great at finding little pillows and features to doss around on.

We would highly recommend getting out to the resorts close to Niseko, we went to Rusutsu, far fewer people and much less tracked powder.

Can highly recommend Niseko Zen to anyone considering them, really amazing experience start to finish!

We skied resort accessed side country with Facu and Juan for 4 days in Feb 2025. Both were absolutely great, with strong insight into the best resorts to hit and the best stashes within each. I am convinced that Facu and Juan provided a differentiated skiing experience relative to what I heard from others who were in the area during the same time, which reflects their strong knowledge of the area's weather dynamics. Facu in particular displayed deep knowledge of weather patterns and avalanche / snow safety, leaving us extremely confident in his decision making, particularly given our whole family was on the hill together. I unequivocally recommend both of them for your next trip. This was my first trip but won't be my last!

We did two days of backcountry touring with Facu and had an amazing time. Even when the conditions were rough in most places, he knew where to go to get in a few laps on great snow out of the wind. He was easy to communicate with, valued our preferences and was able to recommend routes that were perfect for our ability level. We felt safe the entire time and really appreciated how open he was to sharing his knowledge about avalanche risk assessment. We learned a lot and got plenty of powder turns in!! An added bonus that we were the only skiers in the area and he had great recs for a post-tour meal and onsen!

I skied with Facu for four days in February, and he was absolutely incredible.

Every single day, we found the best snow in the area—first tracks, untouched powder, and no lift lines, even when most of the mountain was shut down due to wind. His knowledge of the terrain and conditions was unmatched.

Before this trip, I had a lot of skiing experience in the U.S. (I’m comfortable on all terrain in Aspen and Jackson) but little experience in deep powder and none in backcountry skiing. In just a few days with Facu, I gained so much confidence in powder skiing and got a great introduction to backcountry basics. He walked me through reading avalanche reports, planning routes, and the fundamentals of avalanche rescue. I also learned how to use skins and approach the backcountry with the right mindset for safety.

Facu’s experience as a former ski patroller was evident in everything he did. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, safety-focused, and has a way of building confidence while making sure you’re having an amazing time. Beyond skiing, he made the entire experience in Japan unforgettable—finding incredible vegan and vegetarian restaurants and we even got to visit an onsen after hiking.

Facu did an incredible guiding for our group over 7 days in January of 2025. He took us to different places every day and found us the best snow, no matter the conditions. His level of knowledge is so impressive and made the entire experience very rewarding. During our trip, Niseko didn't get any new snow, but Facu found untracked powder for us to ski every day, no matter what. As a group, we also got an education in avalanche safety, backcountry skills, and technical skiing techniques. It was a ton of fun getting to learn all these things from Facu and, at the same time, enjoy great skiing regardless of the lack of new snow. If you are coming to Niseko, I would highly suggest him as a guide and booking through Niseko Zen.

We spent a totally of 4 days with the guides and got such a wide range of skiing in. On our first day with Pedro, we got good advice on how to better use our gear and had a great tour on Mt. Yotei given that we happened to have a sunny dry spell for 5 days beforehand. It was an awesome sunny day and he was able to get us to some great snow! The next three days we spent with Facu, who took us touring and for a day of side country around one of the resorts. We were fortunate to have a great storm come in and Facu was super good and getting both my wife and I (who are at different levels of familiarity in the backcountry/ability level) into the terrain we had requested in a safe manner. We both got to learn a lot, and had some of the best days on skies we’ve ever had!! Highly recommend this company, they clearly know the ins and outs of where to be and when. It’s clear that all the guides compare notes daily and find the best way to make your days count. Thank you for everything!

Our guide Facu from Niseko Zen did an excellent job considering the challenging snow conditions; he always managed to find great runs with untouched snow. Facu is someone you can truly rely on when it comes to safety and finding the best lines on the mountain. I would highly recommend Facu to anyone looking for demanding yet fantastic skiing.
