Over the course of 12 days, you'll travel deep into the heart of the Canadian Rockies, hitting all the secret local spots and progressing your skills along the way with the assistance of your guides. Radventures have crafted this road trip to get in as many days riding as possible so you can make the most of your Mountain Collective or IKON pass and your time.

Starting in the famous town of Banff, you will have 5 days with minimal driving time to make the most of its local mountains with 2 days at Sunshine Village & 2 days at Lake Louise. This gets you off to a flying start and sets you up for the rest of the trip. As a bonus, you'll have the opportunity to experience the amazing mountain lifestyle on offer.

After 4 days of back-to-back skiing & riding, you'll take a day to drive to Panorama and along the way will explore the sights of the Canadian Rockies including a stop at an incredible natural hot spring to aid in recovery in readiness for the week of solid skiing/boarding ahead.

The following two days of skiing/riding are spent on Panorama's steeps and long vertical and finding epic tree lines in the Extreme Dream Zone, then the group will head to Revelstoke, renowned for its largest vertical and great snowfall.

Enjoy 2 days of skiing/riding the mighty Revelstoke and then you will finally return to Banff to complete your road trip.

The tour has a maximum guest to guide ratio of 6:1 to ensure the best experience for everyone. Small groups allow greater manoeuvrability, flexibility and ease of access to the best spots that each destination. Groups can be split into different ability levels or riding styles each day. Radventures' experienced guides have an in-depth knowledge of the resorts visited, which gives you the ultimate advantage when you're chasing deep, untracked snow. They’ll aim to ride and ski a lot of powder, glades and trees, so please be prepared to ride and ski in the trees. Of course weather and conditions are not possible to predict, so guests must be prepared to ride or ski anything.

A minimum of 4 guests are required in order to run this tour, with a maximum of 12 sharing the same 14-seater van.

Solo Travellers

The vast majority of guests on this tour are also travelling solo and are eager to make new friends too. You'll get along well with your shared interest in snow sports and an eagerness to explore all that Canada has to offer. Accomodation at the base price is shared, but if you want to ensure you have your own room on this tour, you can request a single supplement upgrade.

Extending Your Tour

If you wan't to enjoy more of this beautiful country before and after your tour, Radventures can assist with making arrangements for you.

Can Non-skiers/Boarders Join the Tour?

For sure! Banff, Lake Louise, Revelstoke and Panorama are lively & fun places to visit in the winter, even for those not up on the mountain. Your friend/partner is more than welcome to tag along and enjoy the sights of each of the destinations. Please be aware that this is a snowboarding & skiing trip focused on finding guests the best conditions to ride in, and therefore that will be the priority.

Getting To/From Banff

There are scheduled bus options available that Radventures can book for you, however it is recommend to use their in-house private van transfers that are affordable, comfortable, and have flexible pick-up times.

Your Guides

All Radventures tours are led by friendly, fun, knowledgeable and expertly trained guides who are passionate about the mountain lifestyle. You'll be guided by someone who loves what they do and loves getting their guests stoked.

Your Transportation

Radventures typically use 14 seater passenger vans. Some days on tour your guide might find it more practical and faster to use the local ski-shuttle as it drops you off right at the lifts. Although there are some days where you will travel relatively long distances, the trips are organized to make travelling as convenient and efficient as possible, maximizing your time on the mountain or doing other activities. The travel days are sometimes a highlight of a trip, with interesting communities and spectacular landscapes encountered en route.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival day

Make the 90-minute journey from Calgary downtown/airport to Banff (private transfers or book a bus ticket) and check into the hotel before exploring the incredible town of Banff.

Banff is an epic little mountain town and centre-piece for Banff National Park, the oldest national park in Canada and third oldest in the world.

With your complimentary Banff Roam bus passes you can head up to the Mt. Norquay lookout, check out Bow Falls, search the area for wildlife, or even explore the downtown area - it's totally up to you.

In the downtown area (a short walk from your hotel room) you can make the most of the endless shopping, incredible restaurants and good breweries and bars.

After a day of wandering, get to know your guide and fellow travellers at a group dinner at a local restaurant/bar. You can continue to party it up with your new friends or return to the comfort of your own queen bed, plus you can make use of the indoor pool & hot tub during your 5-night stay.

Day 2 : Sunshine Village - first ski day

Your first day on the mountain. Get the lay of the land with your guide who is a local who spends all winter riding these slopes. They'll quickly show you the deep powder stashes and the best lines so you don't have to waste your time. Your local guide will also show you the best on-mountain lunch spots and the apres-ski hot spot.

Feel free to go exploring yourself, ride with your new friends or hit up the world-class snow parks dotted across the 3 mountains within the resort boundary. The choice is yours.

After an epic first day, return to Banff and join your hosts for an optional VIP shopping experience at a favourite local ski/board store, or make the most of the mountain lifestyle, hit the town or soak in the hot tub.

Day 3 : Sunshine Village day 2

Your second and final day at Sunshine Village. Better go hit those favourite ski runs again. Find out why the Canadian ski & snowboard teams train here on a regular basis, with epic groomers for racing, monster jump lines and tons of snow parks.

After yet another epic day at Sunshine, become a true Canadian (or should I say Canuck?) by joining your hosts at a local hockey game!

Day 4 : Lake Louise day 1

Enjoy the first of two days at Lake Louise Ski Resort with a morning guided orientation. Just like day 1 at Sunshine, you'll have your guide plus a local who spends all winter riding the slopes at Lake Louise. They'll show you the deep powder stashes and the best lines so you don't have to waste your time. Your local guide will also show you the best on-mountain lunch spots and the apres-ski hot spot.

After your day on the mountain, the group will spend some time at Canada's most famous lake, Lake Louise. If you've got the energy, you'll be able to ice skate on the frozen lake, snowshoe around, or just relax inside the world-renowned Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Day 5 : Lake Louise day 2

Day two at Lake Louise gives you the freedom of choice. Hit the groomers, split the trees, drop the backside's blacks and double black runs, or slice it up in the snow park.

Back in Banff for the final night. With a rest and travel day tomorrow, you'll have the chance to hit the town with a brewery/distillery tour and bar crawl, and maybe end the night with some karaoke - just beware!

Day 6 : Rest up and enjoy the ride to Invemere

Take a break from the skiing/boarding and travel through the beautiful Kootenay National Park to Invermere. Enjoy the views along the way and venture out at a few of our favourite spots in the national park.

In the afternoon, you'll have the chance to explore town, go ice-skating on the world's longest skating trail or enjoy some free time.

This evening the group will make the short trip to Radium Hot Springs to soak in the thermal mineral springs, which is a perfect way to recuperate the body before hitting the slopes again at Panorama Mountain Resort tomorrow.

Join your hosts for dinner at a local restaurant-cum-bar and try the amazing twist on the classic chicken parmigiana, with the best marinara sauce you'll ever have.

Tonight you will stay at the Invermere Inn & Suites located right in the middle of town. Everything is so close that they actually measure the distance to nearby sights in steps - no room for debate between imperial and metric!

Day 7 : Panorama day 1

After an easy and relaxing day (potentially), it's time to get back on top of the mountain at Panorama Mountain Resort.

Start the day with a mountain introduction by your local guide who spends all winter riding these slopes. They'll show you the ins and outs and the best spots to maximize your time at this epic ski resort.

Tonight, you'll have some free time and your guide will recommend some activities for you if you wish. This could include another relaxing soak at Radium Hot Springs, a drink at a local brewery, or a nice dinner spot.

Day 8 : Panorama day 2

Day 2 at Panorama typically means one of two things:
- It's time for some cat-skiing, or
- It's a snowmobile kind of day!

Panorama is home to the Monster X Snowcat's, Jekyll & Hide. No, they aren't pussy cats, or tigers or anything like that. Panorama describes them as being "like a really cool shuttle service to some awesome, big mountain terrain that you'll want to lap again and again".

Now maybe, just maybe you want to try your hand at snowmobiling! Just across from the ski resort is the best snowmobiling company (in our humble opinion) on this side of the Rockies. They have a number of options from a half-day to a full-day snowmobile adventure. We recommend the full-day option so you get the afternoon thrash-style freeride session in a huge alpine bowl.

Like the sound of cat-skiing and snowmobiling? That's not a problem, it can be organised to do one activity on the first day and the other on the second day at Panorama.

A few hard days on the body mean that the final night in Invermere is once again left open. Your guide will happily give you more recommendations on what to do to suit your mood. Tomorrow is another rest and travel day ;)

Day 9 : Rest the legs and see the sights

Make the most of the rest and travel day as you head north through the Columbia Valley and onto the jaw-dropping Glacier National Park (not to be mistaken with the namesake down in the US).

The van will make its way across the beautiful Rogers Pass and through avalanche tunnels that protect the highway from the enormous amount of snow this region receives.

In the afternoon you'll arrive into the charming mountain town of Revelstoke, home to #feelthestoke. This fascinating town is an outdoor adventure hub year round, with winter activities including dog sledding, backcountry skiing/boarding, heli-skiing and a whole lot more.

Tonight you will stay downtown in a centrally located 3-star hotel, just a short walk from the best taco spot around.

Day 10 : Hit the mountain at Revelstoke - day 1

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is the Canadian record holder for having the most snowfall in Canada in a single winter - a mind-blowing 80 ft or a whopping 24.38 metres. Not only that, but it has an annual average of 10.5 metres of powder.

Start the day with yet another mountain introduction by your Revy local who spends all winter riding the slopes here. They'll show you the ins and outs and the best spots to maximize your time at this insane ski resort.

After an epic day on the mountain, the group will head to a local hot spring and freshen up the legs for a massive final pow day.

Day 11 : Feel the stoke! Revelstoke day 2

Feel the stoke (and the leg-burn) at Revelstoke - home to the longest vertical skiing in North America, an insane 1,713 metres or 5,620 feet.

Sign up for some more cat-skiing or make the most of the wide-open alpine bowls and perfectly spaced glades, because Revelstoke's got it all.

Tonight, the group will celebrate the final night together by donning your favourite plaid (or checkered) shirts, growing out the beards (don't worry ladies, we've got you covered) and throwing axes like true Canadian Lumberjacks and Lumberjills.

Day 12 : Say your goodbyes!

This morning the van will depart Revelstoke headed for Banff. You'll travel through four national parks today for a grand finale to a road trip.

Upon arrival in Banff you'll officially end the tour (approximately midday). You'll have the chance to farewell your new friends and (no doubt) make plans for your next ski trip together.

For anyone wishing to stay in Banff longer, or travelling back to Calgary, you can get assistance with your additional travel plans.

Arrival & Departure Days

On arrival day, you'll meet for a team dinner & drinks at the first accomodation to meet the group & your guides and get a run-down of the exciting days ahead. You can either find your own way to the first accomodation or we can arrange to come and pick you up from the airport or from close by.

On departure day, the group will leave early to drive back to Banff, arriving at around 12pm and allowing you to either check-in to your next accomodation, get the airport bus or get a ride with the hosts to Calgary International Airport.
