Kagura/Naeba Guiding

Sherpa Adventure Center based in Naeba offers PRIVATE GROUP guided day tours (for up to 5 people in a group) for Naeba and Kagura ski resorts near Yuzawa (aka Snow Country). e.g. if you are a solo traveller, the cost will be the price for the 3 person group.

Your guide can show you the best powder stashes in the off-piste, sidecountry and/or backcountry of Naeba Ski Resort or Kagura Ski Resort. Both of these ski areas and zones typically have the best snow of the Yuzawa ski resorts, thanks to high elevation. Kagura typically scores a little more snow than Naeba, whilst Naeba's strength lies in its steeper terrain.

The guides will take you to pristine powder playgrounds where you can ski or ride through untouched terrain and navigate the backcountry's hidden gems together. The tours offer an opportunity to experience the raw beauty of the backcountry that's far from the crowds, and eons away from the craziness down at the Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort.

Tours can be lift-access only for a fast rotation of laps if you don't want to hike. Or you can do a combination of lift-accessed powder chasing and hiking/touring, or a full day of earning your turns without lifts. The choice is yours, based on your groups preferences, ability, equipment and fitness.

Whether you are new to riding off-piste at the resorts or are a seasoned powder hound wanting to access the steep and deep in the side/backcountry away from the crowds, these day tours can be tailored to suit your group.

Safety

Safety is the top priority and Sherpa Adventure Centre use passionate local certified guides with intimate knowledge of the terrain and snowpack.

As part of the safety protocol, you will be provided with a backpack, shovel, probe and avalanche transponder. On the morning of your tour, you will participate in a mandatory safety briefing which will include the use of the avalanche safety equipment.
