Summit Ski Safari - Hokkaido Powder Belt
The Hokkaido Powder Belt Tour is a multi-day ski safari incorporating a mixture of lift assisted backcountry (sidecountry) at ski resorts as well as some backcountry touring in the Daisetsuzan range.
"Hokkaido Powder Belt" is a term used to describe the region that incorporates the powder laden ski areas of
Central Hokkaido. Due to the location away from the coast, the climatic conditions in Central Hokkaido produce low humidity dry powder that falls in abundance. The region also has the highest mountains of Hokkaido. The Ski Safari Hokkaido Powder Belt Tour heads to some of the best ski resorts of the Hokkaido Powder Belt such as
Furano,
Tomamu, and a gem or two, plus the backcountry zones in the Daisetsuzan mountains that include
Asahidake (which is partly cable car serviced) and
Tokachidake.
Local weather patterns typically vary somewhat, and your guide will have some flexibility to adapt the trip to chase snow conditions in order for you to get the best possible experience.
This tour is offered as a group tour where solos or small groups can join one of the fixed date tours, or if you have your own group you can have a private tour, pending availability. If you have any questions or want to double check about availability, please
make a booking request.
