Colorado Apart Hotel
The Colorado Apart Hotel is incredibly well located with ski-in ski-out access to three different runs at
El Colorado ski resort. It’s only a stone’s throw away from the lifts and the facilities at Los Zorros. In regards to location, it doesn’t get any better than this at El Colorado.
As the name sort of suggests, this accommodation is a cross between a hotel and apartments. The accommodations are in apartments, but the building has some of the facilities you’d expect of a hotel.
Apartments
Colorado Apart Hotel has a variety of apartments (condos) catering for up to 7 guests.
All apartments have a kitchenette, dining area, lounge/seating area and TV. There is either 1 or 2 private bathrooms depending on the size of the apartment.
Check-in is not until 4pm, although this is somewhat common at El Colorado and Farellones. They have luggage storage and changing rooms if you want to go out for a ski. Check out is at 11 am.
Bar and Restaurant
The bar and restaurant at El Colorado Apart Hotel is the absolute highlight of this operation. Even though the décor here is also very 60s and there are daggy curtains, the mix is delightfully rustic retro. With lots of pine wood, two beautiful roaring fireplaces and a sunken lounge, this is a lovely place to hang out. As well as nice ambience, the level of service provided by the staff is fantastic.
Breakfast and dinner are included for guests as part of the half board. Dinner is a 4 course affair and whilst no choice is provided regarding the meals, the food is lovely and it forces you to try new Chilean delights. The food finds the great combination of being delicious as well as healthy. They have an extensive wine list of local vinos, but unfortunately they don’t have any wines by the glass (or fortunately if you want to drink the whole bottle!).
The bar also has a range of other beverages including a nice version of the pisco sour. The atmosphere of the bar is very mellow. This is not a party place, but it’s a very delightful spot to put the feet up in front of the fire and exchange a few skiing stories.
Breakfast is buffet style with a range of typical Chilean breakfast fare: lots of sweet treats including cakes, sweet breads, and caramel spread, and cheeses, hams and coffee.
The restaurant is also open for lunch, and on nice days, lunch can be served on the large sundeck where the many vistas can be appreciated.
Facilities
Adjacent to the restaurant and bar is a games room with a pool table, couches and a huge TV. Complimentary Wifi internet access is available.
The building has a small ski boutique and a ski and board rental shop where they sell a few ski accessories.
