7 Day All Inclusive Heli Skiing Package

SEABA offer a 7 day all inclusive package which operates from Saturday to Saturday (no exceptions) each week in Haines Alaska.

Skier and boarder ability should be intermediate as a minimum and as these packages are based on either mixed groups, where you can join as a solo skier/boarder or a couple/small group. If you have a group of 4, you can make up your own helicopter group (like a semi-private group) or if you have a group of 8 you can book a full private package and have the heli all to yourselves.

Packages include transport from Haines airport to the lodge, single or twin/double share lodging, all meals & guided heliskiing.

The heli skiing is based on various Hobbs hours (hours you are on-board the heli) depending on the package you choose. The Platinum package has 4 Hobbs hours included whilst the private packages have 10 hours and you are only sharing this amongst your own 2 groups in the heli.

Hobbs hours is one of the best ways to get the best value out of a heliskiing trip in Alaska as the weather can be variable (after all you want it to snow a lot so you can ski blower powder!). If you were lucky enough to get 3 bluebird days in a row at the beginning, you might burn through a few of your hours of included Hobbs time. In this case you can purchase additional Hobbs time for more heli skiing. If the weather is a fickle, it might take the full 7 heli days to use your 4 hour of Hobbs time.

Getting There

There are a few options to getting to Haines, Alaska by air and even by Ferry! The most common way is to fly into Juneau, Alaska on a commercial Airline, then book an Alaska Sea Planes flight form Juneau to Haines. See more info about getting there here>>

Here is a short teaser of what you can expect on a SEABA Heli Package....

Sample Itinerary for Weekly Packages

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS :

We'll pick you up from the airport or ferry dock in Haines and transport you to the lodge. There are number of ways to get to Haines. BY AIR: You can fly into Juneau, Alaska on a commercial Airline, then book an Alaska Sea Planes flight form Juneau to Haines online at www.flyalaskaseaplanes.com (use SEABA in the promo code for a discount on baggage fees) *Be aware of the Alaska Airline flights from Seattle to Juneau that stop at coastal towns on the way. Avoid this by looking for the shorter flight times, around 2 hours. BY FERRY: You can take a ferry to Haines from either Juneau or Seattle. This is a much longer journey than flying, but it's very beautiful traveling here by water. Check the sailing calendar for The Alaska Marine Highway for more info: https://www.dot.state.ak.us/oars/reservations/CalendarFM.amhsf THROUGH CANADA: Another option is to fly into Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. This option generally is not available until April. This works well for flying over the north pole from Europe, saves lots of time. You then can rent a vehicle and drive to Haines direct which takes about 4 hours. Or drive to Skagway, Alaska and take the ferry to Haines (2 hour drive to ferry terminal)

DAY 1 (ARRIVAL SATURDAY) :

We'll pick you up in the morning from either the airport or the ferry dock. Try to arrive as early as possible on Saturday. Check in at SEABA HQ. Complete required avalanche and helicopter safety training, gear check and/or gear outfitting. Welcome dinner.

DAY 2-7 :

Sunday - Ski day 1. Breakfast and weigh in with all gear. It's blue and we head out to ski. Dinner with the team. Monday - Ski day 2. It's snowing. Down day. Head to the cat hill, ski in the trees. Tuesday - Ski day 3. Still snowing. Attend a free skills workshop, learn about digging snow pits. Wednesday - Ski day 4. Breakfast at the Fort. Guide ship sent out early this morning, on call until 10am. It's a go! Head to heliport Mile 33, shred pow. Thursday - Ski day 5. It's clear, head to heliport Mile 10. Fly in, ski, eat lunch in the mountains. Ski more, your legs ache, time to head in. Friday - Ski day 6. Weather is clear. Head out to heliport Mile 7. You're hooked on this heli skiing thing. ? *Down Day - A ski day that we are not able to fly do to weather and avalanche conditions. If weather permits, you can go cat skiing or snowmobiling. Attend a free backcountry skills workshop by our guides. Take a boat to Skagway. Go for a hike or a yoga class. Explore town. Rest.

DAY 8 (DEPARTURE SATURDAY) :

Ski day 7. Say your goodbyes. Return gear. Depart Haines.

DEPARTURE INSTRUCTIONS :

We'll transfer you to either the airport or ferry dock as needed.

Typically insurance costs are 4-6% of trip cost. SEABA will support your insurance claim.
