Day 1 - ARRIVAL DAY - TRAVEL to ACONCAGUA VALLEY
CASA guides will arrange morning pick-ups for guests at Santiago International Airport or your Santiago hotel. After a brief city walking tour, we head off to Los Andes for lunch and our home in the Aconcagua Valley for the next 2 nights. Dinner is prepared specially for the group in a hacienda vineyard property.
Day 2 SKI/RIDE PORTILLO
Surrounded by massive Andean peaks, the legendary Portillo ski resort offers steep slopes, long groomers and some of Chile’s premier lift-accessed backcountry. Situated around the spectacular Lago de Inca, Portillo is one of the most scenic ski resorts on the planet. Get a taste of this classic Andes ski destination without spending your entire week here. Experience the wild Roca Jack lift, and then mix it up with world-class skiers at the famous Tio Bob’s.
Day 3 - CAT SKIING at SKI APRA
Considered one of the wildest ski resorts on the planet, Valle El Arpa is an experience not to be missed by snow adventurers. Climbing out of the Aconcagua Valley past stands of Saguaro cacti; the road to Arpa is a 4×4 adventure in itself. In 2011 Arpa earned a spot on the Freeskiing World Tour!
With over 5,000 acres of terrain, 3,000 vertical feet to descend, the most spectacular views of Aconcagua from any resort in the Andes, and skiing with an intimate group make Arpa one of the most memorable destinations to visit on your South American tour.
Day 4 - TRAVEL to NEVADOS DE CHILLAN
We journey south to the powder capital of Chile, Nevados de Chillan. En route we stop at the Miguel Torres winery for a 4-course lunch and wine pairing. The party continues to the ski pueblo of Las Trancas where we spend 4 nights in this forested magical valley, where huge storms are known to settle in!
Day 5-7 - SKI/RIDE NEVADOS DE CHILLAN
For 3 full days we explore our favorite ski resort in Chile, Nevados de Chillan. The resort offers thousands of vertical feet to descend; a lunar-like landscape including 3 volcanic peaks; and continues to be a relatively ‘undiscovered’ snow paradise. Nevados features everything from long groomed slopes and the gentle Tres Marias lava tubes to adventurous steeps in Pirigallo Valley and steaming summits of the Chillan volcanoes. Our evenings are spent celebrating our day in true Chilean style.
Day 8 - DEPARTURE DAY, RETURN to SANTIAGO
Today we return to Santiago. After making a stop in the city of Chillan and visiting its famous meat, produce and artisan market, we head north and arrive at Santiago International Airport by 6 pm. Please schedule your flight for after 7pm.
