I have been skiing since the fourth grade. I am now 79 years old and every turn is a new experience. Never get tired of the sport. I have skied many resorts in the US and Europe. Snowbird is by far the best. I can ski any resort I want but always go to Snowbird. Lived in Salt Lake for 35 years and skied an average of 25 days a year. Moved to Northern Idaho where the skiing is ok but return to Salt Lake for February, the best month of skiing. Snowbird forever.

Snowbird was impressive. From the minute you enter the base village area, to the fantastic vertical you get from each tram ride, every bit of it just felt more impressive than Solitude and Brighton. We had the same problem however with snow quality because it had maybe snowed 4 inches over the last 3 weeks and absolutely nothing fell while we were there. We rode Snowbird on a Wednesday so we were blessed with basically no liftlines the entire day. That was strategically done though because I’ve read about how busy it can be there on a weekend.
Lifts were great at Snowbird. The tram is fantastic all in itself, to get close to 3,000 vertical each run and also get to warm up in the tram is nice. Plus they have this converyor belt lift that takes you through the mountain to the backside which is a neat experience everyone has to do once. The piste trails were interesting, the groomed blacks were super steep and icy and had very little grip. But we did find some runs off Gad 2 that were a ton of fun and had lots of side hits down them. We really didn’t get to hit any off-piste runs due to how icy was it unfortunately.
Snowbird seemed pretty child friendly with a whole “baby thunder family area” and lift all to itself. We didn’t stay to find out but there didn’t seem to be any real nightlife. I would recommend Snowbird to people for sure, with better snow I bet it would be incredible. And one day I’ll return, hopefully on a deeeeeeep year.

Great resort for those who want to emphasize their experience on skiing. Little Cloud and Mineral Basin are a great way to spend the day. Lots of options there, and the whole group can ski to the same lifts via different routes regardless of ability. The Peruvian Lift is similar, offering an excellent vertical drop. But that lift is cold. We were there on very warm days in early January, but still that lift is cold. Take the tram if it isn't busy. The snow after the initial steeps at Great Scott and the Cirque is excellent. After coming down there traverse along skiers left and access terrain you otherwise can't really get to.

For a world class resort - with some of the deepest and most frequent refreshed powder combined with epic terrain - it is remarkable how backward their attitude is toward customer service.

We visited Deer Valley twice and Snowbird twice on our ski trip.

At Deer Valley they treat each customer like a special guest. Each employee acts like they have a vested interest in the outcome of the customer experience. At Deer Valley when you pull up to drop your ski gear next to the lodge, there are attendants that greet you pleasantly, welcome you to Deer Valley and offer to help you unload your skis and carry them to the ski rack. There is ample parking and skiers are quickly and efficiently transported from Parking to the slopes in a multiple open transport vehicles.

At Snowbird, we had to jump through hoops to get a parking pass, then wait in a long poorly run line to scan our pass and get into the parking lot. We found open parking spots and parked - only to find out when we got back that our vehicle had been booted and a big annoying warning sticker put on the drivers window blocking the driver's ability to see out the driver's side window. We later found out their was a sign about 10 parking spaces away from where we parked saying that this area was designated as preferred parking requiring another special pass which we did not have.

No welcoming attendant that helps with your skis and offers direction on parking, just poorly marked parking designation - a dangerous warning sticker mashed onto the driver's side window and a boot cleverly placed on our car, so we have to go visit their most unpleasant and rude public safety office in the bowels of the Snowbird Plaza. The Public Safety Officials were rude and unapologetic for the misunderstanding, the inconvenience and the lack of signage informing the uninitiated public of Snowbird's "Preferred Parking" arrangements. It seems odd that an organization that claims to cater to world class skiers is so backward in the art of "Customer Service."

Dave Fields ought to visit Deer Valley and force his Managers and employees to learn from Deer Valley what world class customer service look like. They are worlds apart. No doubt Snowbird has better Powder Skiing Terrain and Snow - but is it really that hard to deliver your ski offering with good information, a friendly smile and basic manners. Leave the arrogance to lessor locations. A place like Snowbird that caters to wealthy skiers from all over the world should delivery in the same world class manner that other world class resorts operate.

"Negative 10 Stars" for Parking and

"Negative 20 Stars" for "Public Safety" This partly for making my car unsafe to drive and partly for being so rude and arrogant about what you do.

Snowbird likes to brag about their 1 star reviews. I dare you to publish this one on your advertising bill board. I hope this serves its purpose and you learn and hire a Public Safety leader that gets customer service and safety instead of the Neanderthals you currently employ at Snowbird.

I am an east coast snowboarder from Baltimore. I got to ride pretty much all that Utah has to offer. I spent two separate week-long trips by myself in the Wasatch this winter. I rode 3 days at Park City, Hiked Murdock peak almost to the top, and upon Jupiter lift on pioneer ridge in 2-3 foot deep light powder conditions. 4 days at Brighton (mainly on milly dropping rocks and stuff), 3 half days at solitude, a day a Snowbasin, my last day of the season at Pow Mow, and used all 5 days up at Snowbird.

There is something about snowbird. It's really easy to be all over the place really quick if you want to without riding the tram. I hiked baldy several times a day no problem, and multiple lines on the cirque, and ever traversed my way along the far side of Mineral basin in the Eldora's. All in one day.The highlights were, thanks for the memories, fields of glory, Great Scott, mineral basin, black forest, the tunnel. Their beyond burgers were pretty good, though expensive as expected

One star review and I'm not Greg from LA. In fact I've skied the Bird for over 40 years but no longer. The terrain is for expert skiers but if you are such, be aware of “mtn safety” patrol watching your every move. Constant gestures, blowing whistles and screaming at you. Yet we are entirely skiing in control. Such great customer service? They have lost sight of it! My family's ski dollars are going elsewhere now and spreading the word. Thru Icon, we ski Solitude as our home base and many other resorts. Simply put, they are very polite and accommodating, a whole different vibe! Now we avoid 1+ hour tram lines for 1 minute lift lines and equally good powder skiing.

Snowbird is a great resort with a great variety of trails from expert to beginner. However, there are more advanced-expert trails then beginner trails and boy are they steep. We went when it was whiteout conditions and the winds where blowing 20+ at the summit. Awesome slopes.

Snowbird is definitely one of Utah's number one resort, it has everything; hotels, restaurants, clothing stores, gift shops, and the mountains. The prices for lift tickets and season passes are fairly priced unlike others places in Utah like park City. It is a lot less crowded then most resorts. The lodges have really good food to eat when you get hungry for lunch. I went to the restaurant in the Cliff Lodge called El Chanate and it was really good food and the service was good. The mountain has lots of options for different types of skiers, they have lots of lifts, they have good groomed trails for different level of skiers, and they have awesome powder and off the trail runs. I would recommend going to Snowbird.
