Pre Xmas Skiing

Went there (3 Peaks Dolomites) before Xmas with my kids (20 and 18), and having been to most areas of the Dolomiti, this was a first for me. We stayed at the Berghotel - a wonderful 4 star with ski in/out facilities and a spa to die for.
We enjoyed cruising around all the area, at the time not overcrowded at all. The lifts are amazing and the connection with Croda Rossa allows one to never ski the same slope on the day.
It's a resort for a relaxed ski surrounded by beautiful mountains. Better to ski Monte Elmo in the morning with the sun, and then move to Croda Rossa around 12. We will definitely return!

Beautiful Place to Ski & Relax

14/08/2019
Visited 3 Peaks Dolomites ski resort in late March 2019. Had a wonderful relaxing stay in this beautiful part of the Dolomites. The mix rural traditions, nature, fantastic piste skiing & precipitous mountains when combined with the local hospitality is hard to beat for a relaxing ski holiday. Even though it was rapidly approaching the 'green season', the ski slopes were beautifully covered & utterly deserted. We checked out the smaller ski locations & Innichen & Kreuzbergpass plus a range of gorgeous cross-country ski trails as well - all similarly deserted. Mid week here is the time to come & enjoy the Drei Zinnen.

We cant wait to return and sample the new chairlifts & trails that will connect the main resort area to Val Comelico over the Passo Monte Croce. Even more so when the resort connects by gondola to Sillian over the 2538m Hochgruben. The 3 Peaks Dolomites ski resort is only getting bigger & better. Watch this space!

A must for real skiers

Being there first time for curiosity after passing all Pusteria valley places. Pleasant surprise and will surely come again.

Large slopes are not too heavy and offers a variety of opportunities for a good ride. Two separated locations once, Monte Elmo and Crodarossa, finally has been connected through modern stiergarten gondola with so good slopes. I really enjoyed skiing there . Strong point is also a panorama of Dolomiti rocks and excellent view. Slopes are long and various, generally very large and in combination with no rush, produces a real fun. Will surely come again even if for just one day.

The price of daily ticket in preseason was 45 euro, which is the same amount of surrounding ski resorts. Excellent Pustertal express train means that in 30 minutes from San Candido you are on Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), which is perfect for change a day or two in seven days holidays. Sillian in Austria is only 3 km from Versiacco valley staring point and once the connection will be completed the resort will have over 130 km of slopes. Enough for a full week of fun. The food is also a forte of the resort. South Tyrolean specialties mixed with Italian influence produces excellent tasty food. And South Tyrolean red wines are also a reason for coming. Try, you will not regret!

Great experience at Sesto....... I mean 3 Peaks Dolomites.

We love that you can be staying in a big regional town like Brunico (Brunick), jump on a train, step off at Versciaco-Elmo, walk across to the fantastic Punka centre and be skiing at 3 Peaks Dolomites within an hour. The experience is even better if staying in lodgings at Sesto.

3 Peaks has superb resort facilities (including restaurants & bars) plus several very long, very awesome quality pistes. The trails from Monte Elmo back down to Versciaco on one side (up to 7km long) and into Sesto on the other side are excellent. The steepest groomed piste in Italy is here as well, but is at best underwhelming.

Lift infrastructure is unbelievable when one considers the amount of piste runs and lack of people in the resort. Snow making capacity is impressive. A series of new gondolas has finally fully interlinked the ski resort.

There are delightful children's facilities and terrain at Versciaco & Waldheim near Sesto, plus away from the valley at San Candido (Innichen) & Dobbiaco (Toblach), adding up to a brilliant family skiing destination. Families (& the young at heart) will also love the long sledding trail on Croda Rossa.

Sesto (Sexten), the main centre of the resort, is a lovely little town in a beautiful valley and worth staying in if around for a few days. The Muhle bar in Sesto is worthy of some attention for après. The best bar in the region is funnily enough at the train station in Dobbiaco-Toblach. An unassuming door leads to a drinkers' nirvana, a bar worthy of any great city or ski resort in the world! Check it out.

An added benefit of a skiing Sesto is that some excellent resorts (Sillian in Austria & the amazing Kronplatz near Brunico) are within a 30min train ride. Similarly, historic Brunico is a quick train ride journey for any down days.

Put a visit to 3 Peaks-Drei Zinnen ski resort on your list of things to do when skiing the Dolomites.
