Rusutsu Accommodation
The main Rusutsu accommodation consists of two large slopeside resort hotels and a condo hotel. The
Rusutsu Resort Hotel is very conveniently ski-in ski-out, has a wealth of facilities and services, and is very family friendly. Next door is
The Vale Rusutsu with its deluxe suites and apartments. The luxury
Westin Rusutsu Resort also offers direct access to the slopes.
Other Rusutsu accommodation consists of a very small range of pensions and houses that are either about 500m walk to the Rusutsu Resort or require a shuttle to get to the slopes or self-driving. The Rusutsu pensions are very inexpensive relative to the Rusutsu hotels and they are mostly run by Japanese families, so you're highly likely to get a great Japanese cultural experience. The only downside is that they are popular so it can be hard to find availability.
The other option is to stay in
Niseko accommodation and take day trips to
Rusutsu (only 30 minutes away).
Or if you have a rental car you could stay in the beautiful
Lake Toya area (the lake is 19km from Rusutsu Hokkaido). See the
Lake Toya accommodation listings.
Accommodation a Short Drive to Rusutsu Lifts
There are a few Rusutsu lodging options that are located about 1.5 to 6km from the Rusutsu Ski Resort, and are connected to the resort by bus or lodge operated shuttles. Some of the Rusutsu houses or lodges require a car to drive to the ski resort.
Lodging Walking Distance to Rusutsu Lifts
There are a handful of Rusutsu lodging options that are opposite or adjacent to the Rusutsu Resort Hotel. These are located about 300-500 metres walk from the slopes of West Mountain at Rusutsu Ski Resort, and also provide easy access to the small strip of izakayas (which can be a refreshing alternative to the Rusutu Resort restaurants) and convenience stores.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Accommodation Rusutsu
The large Rusutsu hotels offer the convenience of a ski-in ski-out location. The Rusutsu Resort Hotel in particular provides very easy access to the slopes of West Mountain which is ideal for beginners. Next door is The Vale Rusutsu which is also ski-in ski-out. From the Westin Rusutsu Resort, the slopes are accessed via a chairlift.
