Ski Honshu, A Taste

Honshu skiing and snowboarding features the famous Japan powder (and face shots!) as well as some great Japanese cultural experiences. This Ski Honshu video features several of the Honshu ski resorts that the Powderhounds have reviewed: Nozawa Onsen, Hakuba Cortina, Madarao, Myoko, Inawashiro, Geto Kogen, Shizukuishi, Appi Kogen and Hakkoda.

Madarao

Madarao Kogen Ski Resort is a great place in Japan for powder skiing and snowboarding. The Powderhounds have checked out this ski resort a few times and gone a little Madapow!

Tohoku

The Powderhounds headed out on Tohoku Powder Tour in northern Honshu. We visited "off-the-beaten-path" ski resorts in northern Honshu Japan. Cultural experiences, plenty of fun, and lots of powder!


This is Day 5 of the tour where we headed to Geto Kogen. There were freshies galore on offer (this footage is all in-bounds).

Myoko Powder Package

The Powderhounds headed to Myoko Kogen Japan to check out the Myoko ski areas as well as nearby ski resorts.

Hakkoda

Hakkoda Japan gets absolutely dumped with snow so it's the capital of powder skiing and snowboarding.

Zao Onsen Snow Monsters

Zao Onsen has some westernised creature comforts yet it's retained its Japanese vibe and offers plenty of traditional culture, onsens and skiing and snowboarding. The Zao snow monsters are also rather picturesque, although fine days are not that frequent.
