Harris Mountains Heli-Ski Queenstown & Wanaka Packages
Harris Mountains Heli-ski offer single day packages so your NZ ski holiday can include some heli skiing mixed in with resort skiing at the nearby ski resorts such as Treble Cone, Cardrona, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. However once you go heli skiing you might not ever want to go back to lift accessed skiing!
There are a range of Queenstown and Wanaka heli skiing packages with Harris Mountains Heli-Ski:
- Experience 4 Run Package - ideal for strong intermediates
- Classic 7 Run Package - ideal for advanced skiers and riders who realise that 4 runs just won't satiate the passion for heli skiing
- Maximum Vert 10 Run Package - ideal for expert skiers and snowboarders who don’t need to take things at a leisurely pace
Each group consists of 4 to 5 guests (depending on weight) and 1 guide, with up to 3 groups sharing a helicopter and riding the same zone. Packages include the guided heli skiing, lunch, use of an avalanche beacon, and accommodation pick-up and drop-off. Powder skis are not included but can be rented from one of the Queenstown ski hire shops. Powder skis with a minimum of 100mm in the waist are highly recommended, especially for strong intermediates, to make it easier and more fun.
See the Harris Mountains Heliski overview for information on location, terrain, and our detailed review.
In addition to this Heliski Queenstown and Wanaka package, Harris Mountains Heli-Ski also offers Mt Cook packages that include gorgeous scenic flights between Queenstown and Mount Cook.
Various options are also available for private charter. Enquire for an accurate quote.

Queenstown & Wanaka Typical Itinerary
- Early in the morning Harris Mountains Heliski (HMH) check the weather, then they contact you to confirm the heli-ski trip is on, and to set a pickup time.
- HMH pick you up at your accommodation and drive you to the helicopter staging area, where you’re introduced to your pilot, guide and fellow heli-skiers.
- A safety briefing is given covering avalanche transceivers, helicopter and mountain safety. Then you fly off to the day’s first heli-ski run.
- All heli-ski groups meet together for an alpine buffet lunch and some downtime to relax and talk about the morning’s action.
- After that, it’s back to the ultimate ski experience - more heli-ski runs to finish off your perfect day in the mountains.
- At the end of the day, HMH drive you from the staging area back to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest or a quick change before your après ski evening in Queenstown or Wanaka.
