Mt Cook Day
Operating from July 1 to September 30, Mt Cook Heliski offer a 5-run heli skiing day which includes the guided skiing, a picnic lunch, avalanche transceiver, other safety equipment, and ground transfers from the Mt Cook village if required. Needless to say, the package also includes the fabulously scenic helicopter rides!
For many international visitors the NZ currency exchange is incredibly favourable, making this experience of a lifetime “cheap as chups”.
Mt Cook Heliski also offers this package as a private charter. So if you have a group of up to 4 friends who are at a similar level, why not do a private charter and max your vertical!

Helipad Location
The main helipad is
Glentanner Airfield, and occasionally from
Mount Cook Airport. Glentanner is only 15 minutes drive from Mt Cook village and less than an hour from Lake Tekapo.

Accommodation Options
This package doesn't include accommodation however the Mt Cook village has several accommodation options. The renowned Hermitage Mt Cook offers a range of lodgings including luxurious hotel rooms offering spectacular views, motel rooms and chalets. Mt Cook village also has the YHA Mount Cook and a lodge. The other option is to stay in one of the
Lake Tekapo hotels, about an hour away from Mt Cook.

Cancellation Policy
Because Mount Cook Heliski is a weather-dependent activity, pre-payment is not required.
We reserve the right to cancel if weather is not safe/suitable for the aircraft or skiing. Guests may transfer to another day, if space, weather, and itineraries allow.
Alpine Guides reserves the right to change the duration of the ski day around changing weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.
We guarantee a refund of any deposits paid (or no charge) if your cancellation is received by 5pm the day before skiing.
Cancellations should be made by phone or in person. If emailing ensure you give more than 24 hours notice.
Rolling Over Reservations
We encourage guests to have a backup day in case bad weather prevents us operating on your day of choice. While we will do our best to rollover bookings, we cannot guarantee that this is possible to do, if we do not have space available.
