At
Mt Olympus the only option for dining and nightlife is the Top Hut lodge.
Mt Olympus Dining
For day-trippers it’s either possible to purchase a meal cooked by the chef or BYO food and heat it up in the kitchen. The Top Hut day lodge canteen also sells drinks and basic snacks.
Meals are included for over-night guests. These are cooked by the chef with the assistance of the guests.
Bars & Nightlife
The Top Hut provides some great après and nightlife. With BYO alcohol, anything’s possible but it really depends upon when you visit. During the Wrinkle-Free week there’s a high likelihood of plenty of fun, and who knows what might happen during the “Fanta Pants” week?
A lot of the festive antics are centred round the hot tub (which has the claim to fame of being the highest spa in New Zealand), and whatever happens in the hot tub stays in the hot tub! Day-trippers might also be allowed in the spa for a small fee.
If staying in Christchurch or Methven, there are a range of bars and nightlife options. See the
Methven restaurants page for more information.
