Ushuaia Lodging
Ushuaia Argentina has an abundance of accommodation options. Ushuaia hotels are the mainstay, and there are plenty of 3 and 4 star hotels, as well as a handful of 5 star hotels. Other Ushuaia accommodation includes backpacker hostels, hosterias (guest houses), cabanas, and bed and breakfasts.
Many of the Ushuaia hotels are located downtown and within easy walking distance of the many restaurants, bars and shops. Other Ushuaia hotels are perched up on the hillside to make the most of the views across the Beagle Channel.

Ushuaia Hotels
There are many Ushuaia hotels, but here are a few that we have stayed at and are happy to recommend. A common theme of these hotels was that they were very over-heated, so you have to leave your window wide open and traffic noise can be a bit of a problem. Another is that the wifi is close to useless (a problem across most of Ushuaia)!
Hotel Tierra del Fuego is just a couple of streets away from the main street and it finds a nice balance between being in a relatively quiet location and easy access to the epicentre of restaurants and shops. Perched up a few streets from the Beagle Channel, rooms have a view of the water or the mountains. Breakfast is a rather simple continental affair. It’s rated as a 4 star hotel, but it’s more like a 3 star.
Hotel Canal Beagle is another 3 star hotel masquerading as a 4 star Ushuaia hotel. It’s in a great location right near the port, although the views from the restaurant are unfortunately across the many shipping containers at the port rather than the Beagle Channel. The rooms are spacious and reasonably quiet, and hotel facilities include a swimming pool and day spa.
Hotel Albatros is located next door and is also in an excellent location close to the harbour. It is an aptly rated 4 star hotel and includes a nice buffet breakfast, day spa, sauna and hot tub. The adjacent restaurant and bar offers nice views across the water.
Luxury Ushuaia Accommodation
Ushuaia also has a handful of 5 star luxury hotels if you need a little more pampering.
Los Cauquenes Resort is a lovely hotel just a little out of town (free shuttles in and out of town), offering gorgeous views across the water. The resort offers extensive day spa services that are reasonably priced.
Las Hayas Ushuaia Resort is also rather upscale and is located on the road up to the Glaciar Martial.
Cerro Castor Lodging
Accommodation at the base of the Cerro Castor Ski Resort is limited to the 15 Castor Ski Lodge cottages. The cottages are self-contained with a kitchen, or breakfast and dinner is available at the restaurant.
