Arapahoe Basin Resort Facilities

Tyax Heli Skiing Packages
Wagner Custome Skis
The Arapahoe Basin facilities and services are mainly housed within two buildings at the base: the A-Frame Lodge; and the Winter Sports Center.

Arapahoe Basin Ski Rentals and Snowboard Equipment

Arapahoe Basin has an equipment rental shop in the Winter Sports Center that offers standard, performance and demo rentals. The Base 'n' Edge Tune Shop is located nearby.

Alternatively if you’re sampling multiple ski resorts in Summit County you may find it easiest to get equipment rentals where you’re staying. There are lots of options for Keystone ski rentals and Breckenridge ski rental shops, and the other nearby towns are also very ski and snowboard-centric with plenty of shops to get equipment.

Facilities for Children

No child minding facilities exist; you’ll have to leave the wee ones at Keystone!

Arapahoe Basin Ski School

A Basin has a small ski school and as such reservations are essential. If you fail to reserve, you may miss out.

Eating On Mountain

The base area has a classic old school ski hill eatery, The Legends Cafe, serving basic but good tasty morsels for breakfast and lunch. In the same building is the 6th Alley Bar & Grill where you can get a meal and adult beverage.

Halfway up the hill is the Black Mountain Lodge which provides food and drink of varying quality and price. That is of course if the staff can pull themselves away from conversations with their mates!! BYO hot chocolate in a thermos – it’ll be quicker and easier. The outdoor deck is a nice spot to catch some stunning mountain views.

The Snow Plume Refuge hut at the top of the Norway Lift offers welcome respite from the biting wind and you can get some sustenance at il Rifugio, a European bistro.

Brown baggers are well catered for. This is one of the few ski hills in the world that actually supports (even encourages) skiers to bring their own lunch. Microwave ovens and other facilities are provided in the dining area for use by said brown baggers.

Shopping

The A-Frame Lodge houses the Arapahoe Sports Retail Shop which has a decent selection of A Basin souvenirs as well as ski and snowboard accessories such as helmets, goggles, mitts and gloves, and other essentials.

If you’re in the market for new skis or a snowboard or other hardwear, you’d be better placed to head to one of the Keystone or Breckenridge ski shops.

Nearby Dillon/Silverthorne is the hot shopping spot. The huge number of brand name outlet stores will turn hardened shoppers into drooling lunatics. Just remember the costs of excess baggage for the flight home!
