A Typical Day
Pacific Crest Snowcats operates up to two snowcats daily—each with two guides—for a total capacity of just 20 guests per day.
A typical day starts at 8 a.m. with a safety briefing which includes familiarization with the snowcat, loading/unloading procedures, rescue scenarios and backcountry protocols plus instruction on using your beacon.
Then you will move on to 8 to 12 runs spread throughout seven distinctly different zones as you will explore more than 3,000 acres of reserved terrain. On average, the runs are between 1,000 and 1,200 feet in length with a few of our longer laps closer to 1,500 feet.
Most groups can expect over 12,000 vertical feet by day’s end…more than enough skiing or snowboarding to feel worthy of a cold beer on the ride back to the trailhead.
Typically you will return back to the trail head by 5:00 pm.
